Tactical medics have been wanting all to know for some time now that we in EMS are on the front lines. That means that we must all train for this very thing and must all carry a tourniquet & combat dressing on our persons at all times...Best wishes Carey
I think that this is a good lesson for all EMS. We put ourselves in danger every time we get into our trucks. This could happen to any of us at anytime for just simply doing our job. I hate that this happened & I hope that it all turns out well for Carey, but I also hope that this makes all EMS providers remember what we were taught in class. No matter how much we want to save a life, it isn't worth anything if we loose ours in the process. I just thank God that he didn't loose his...
don't think that some people are just plain crazy, and with a gun, people are dangerous. In America, we expect our first responders to answer the call, and like me EMT for 20 yrs we serve with pride. Please support this man so he may have a speedy recovery and get back to where he belongs.
