UPDATE: Armed Robbery Suspects Charged in Ohio Thefts
More charges for four people arrested in connection with recent armed robberies in Huntington after investigators in Ohio connect them with several thefts there.

SOUTH POINT, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Four people arrested Wednesday in connection with a series of armed robberies in Huntington now face more charges in Ohio.

Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless says Paul A. Prichard, 33, of South Point, Jessica Wormington, 20 of South Point, Ohio, Sarah McDonald, 21, of Chesapeake and WIlliam Trent Spaulding, 24 of Chesapeake, Ohio will be charged in connection with several thefts from cars in the South Point area Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. According to a news release from the Sheriff's office several vehicles along County Road 18 and State Route 243 were broken into. Investigators say the suspects took purses, money, identification,credit cards,checks,electronics,radios and tools -- even bulletproof vests.

The sheriff says they were contacted by detectives from the Huntington Police Department and obtained search warrants for homes in South Point and Burlington. Deputies recovered numerous items the thefts in Lawrence County as well as property investigators say was stolen in Huntington. The four suspects are currently being housed in the Western Regional Jail.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police and Marshall University Police arrested four people Wednesday in connection with some recent armed robberies.

Investigators had been conducting interviews throughout Wednesday afternoon and even found a picture of the car, which was missing the rear left corner-panel.

Huntington Police officers spotted the car described by witnesses and stopped it, arresting the four occupants without incident.

Officers arrested:

  • William Trent Spaulding, 24, of Scottown, Ohio. He will be charged with two counts of first-degree armed robbery.

  • Paul Anthony Prichard, 33, of South Point, Ohio. He will be charged with two counts of first-degree armed robbery.

  • Jessica L. Wormington, 20, of South Point, Ohio. She will be charged with first count of first-degree armed robbery and one count of fraudulent use of an access device.

  • Sarah Ellen McDonald, 21, of Huntington, W.Va. She will be charged with one count of fraudulent use of an access device.

Police say the robberies were all very similar. In each one, the victims were approached and had a handgun pointed at them. The suspects would demand money then flee to a waiting car parked nearby.

Police tell WSAZ.com that two handguns were found during the arrests.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and they anticipate that additional charges may follow.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man from China, who is in America on a tourist visa, was reportedly robbed Tuesday morning in Huntington.

A 911 dispatcher in Cabell County told WSAZ.com, Marshall University Police found the man at 12:02 a.m. Tuesday at 12th Street and 4th Avenue.

Those officers then contacted Huntington Police.

They say, although there was a language barrier, the man was able to tell them that he was robbed at gunpoint.

Huntington Police Department is investigating.

what do u do when your held against your will to do alot of things? i was beat on,tortured mentally and physically, and threatened that if i was to walk away i would be shot in the back as i was walking. i loved him but i was terrified for my life to. call me STUPID! what do i do, tell the real story or leave it be.

Paul has done to many things to let him get by with it. He needs to pay for hurting someone i love dearly .We will never forget either. So he needs to be locked up for good.
