According to Sagarin Rankings, Big East is 3rd and the Big 10 is 6th. Both conferences had 6 teams ranked in AP Poll during the year, Big East has 3 less teams. WVU played 5 non-conference games with 3 of those bowl eligible. Ohio State played 4 non-conference games with a D-1AA team (Youngstown State), and the other 3: 3-9 Kent State, 4-8 Akron, and 4-9 or 5-8 Washington.
To Donnie, LSU's ranking has never been questioned by most "experts," though Strength of Schedule ratings put them at #48 and WVU at #51. Where's Ohio State you ask? #76. Kansas doesn't even deserve to be mentioned, but they are at #107. Hawaii is dead last at #119. This should answer your questions regarding the ratings. A little research will prevent you from looking foolish.
.....and Donnie, after you wake up from your Donkey Punch, you might want to look up who Ohio State has played.
