Monday would have been a good day to curl up with a good book and that's what they were doing at the Cultural Center in Charleston Monday.
Kindergarteners from Clay, Lincoln, and McDowell counties took part in the state's first Imagination Library.
It's a program that helps get every child a free book every month until the child's fifth birthday.
"Having books in the home before they go to school teaches early literacy and a love for reading. It takes kids where they may never get to,” WV Department of Education and Arts Robin Taylor said.
Country music star Dolly Parton started the program in Tennessee more than ten years ago. Since then, it's expanded nationwide.
