HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man is now in jail after deputies say he walked into the Prestera Center, pointed a gun at the staff and then threatened to start shooting if he did not get some drugs.
According to the Cabell County Sheriff's Office, Jay Pike, 34, of Huntington made the threats shortly before 9:00 Tuesday morning.
Deputies say the weapon used was a BB gun and didn't have the CO2 cartridge needed to actually fire a BB. They believe the BB gun was used more to strike fear in others and posed no real threat.
Deputies say Pike was passed out in the lobby when they arrived on the scene with the gun in his hand inside a jacket pocket.
Pike is charged with attempted armed robbery and attempting to commit robbery by using the threat of deadly force,
Following his arraignment he was taken to the Western Regional Jail.
Prestera is located on Rt. 60 just outside of Huntington city limits.
