14 Arrested in Major Pike County, Ky. Drug Roundup

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) – A major drug roundup in Pike County, Ky. has wrapped up with 14 people under arrest on federal charges.

Kentucky State Police, FBI, and Pikeville Police conducted the joint operation on Wednesday.

The roundup was the result of a seven-month joint investigation into the trafficking of heroin in and around Pikeville, Ky.

Kentucky State Police say investigators were able to identify local traffickers who they say were conspiring with out of state sources to obtain heroin and then bring it back to Pike County for distribution.

On Wednesday, officers executed 14 of 15 federal indictment warrants. Each of those arrested is charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin as well as other distribution charges.

KSP says the following suspects were arrested, and are now being held in the Pike County Detention Center:

Lindsey Pruitt, Pikeville, Ky.
Tonya Cox, Pikeville, Ky.
Amanda Hurley, Pikeville, Ky.
Angela Gumbert, Pikeville, Ky.
Tiffany Caudill, Pikeville, Ky.
Alorea Prater, Pikeville, Ky.
Jerry Beavers, Pikeville, Ky.
Richard Compton, Pikeville, Ky.
James Mullins, Pikeville, Ky.
William Blanton, Pikeville, Ky.
Richard Hodges, Cincinnati, Ohio
James Brunty, Pikeville,Ky.
