A Boyd County judge says an ambulance driver charged last fall with DUI on the job is not guilty.
In October, Ashland Police pulled Jan-Care driver Steven Ray Marcum over for running two red lights, with a patient in the back.
The judge said that since blood tests on Marcum came up negative for alcohol or drugs, his DUI charge should be dismissed.
County Attorney Phil Hedrick says he was confident in the veteran police officer's report that Marcum was visibly impaired.
The ambulance driver was found guilty of running the two red lights.

Well, it looks like I won that battle of the truth because all of you other idiots spoke without knowing all of the facts which you may have learned had the news station reported the final results as much and as frequently as the initial incident. But that part wasen't as interesting now was it? You all are pathetic, especially the person who commented on his deceased mother who was one of the most God fearing women I've ever known and WSAZ is pathetic for not making as much of a deal out of the end results. I will no longer watch your station. WOWK will be my news station for now on. Goodbye you losers.

I can tell by most of these comments that people prejudge. The driver went to work sick that day, but that was omitted. Yes, a breathalyzer was given & found to be negative. The hydrocodone that was in his urine, & not his system was by PRESCRIPTION, & in very small traces. (Less than he was prescribed) & that doesn't mean he had taken any before or during work. If you wish to judge, get elected first. Most of you commenter's probably don't even possess a license due to some type of DUI. & to speak badly of a dead woman is VERY disrespectful. (You can look that word up too) Obviously your mother didn't have the capacity to teach you any better. I would hope that if I ever need an ambulance, that he would be the driver because I know for a fact that he IS an excellent driver. Get ALL the facts before you pass judgement because that just shows your stupidity. If you research what I said you will better understand the difference between urine & system stupid.

This is also directed to "ME" you obviously aren't a Christian or you would have known that ambulance driver's mother. You must have issues with your own druggie mother to prejudge his mother without knowing her or him. If you check your issue of the "Websters New Collegiate Dictionary" you will find the meaning of the words "cleared", "innocent", "dismissed", and "not guilty" because you obviously don't know the meaning. You are probably a hypocrite & that's why you are afraid to print your real name. Or was your mother so drugged out that that was the only name she could come up with? I think I'll watch a different news station in the future, one that puts as much effort into completing the story as they put into starting it. The public needs to know the end result with as much publicity as the start. When people speak misinformed, it shows how pathetic they are. Know the whole story before you make yourself look stupid. It embarrasses the rest of us who live around here "ME".
