Former President Bill Clinton made a stop in our region to campaign for his wife this comes as the presidential primary in ohio draws near closer.

Clinton held the support rally at Marietta College where he told the group he believes Hillary is the only presidential candidate with the experience to lead the nation.

Clinton says the Buckeye state will put Hillary back on top thanks to the tireless campaigning of Ohio governor Ted Strickland.

“I am moved beyond words that he came out for Hilary without talking to me. He made the decision based on her merits and his conviction that she'd be the best president and the most likely to win Ohio in the fall and I thank him for that.”

Governor Strickland joined Clinton on his campaign stops through Ohio Sunday.

Voters head to the polls on March 4th in Ohio.

Love the fact that the ONLY thing anyone can find fault with Bill Clinton was the deal with Monica...well guess what he was not voted in to be my minister..he was put in their to run this Country and he did a dam good job of it...especially when you ask yourself if WE were better off then, then we are NOW!We are not really voting for Bill we are voting for Hillary and she is the Best of both of them! She IS the most experienced of all the candidates. And she atleast has some idea of what middle class people NEED in this Country..And has WORKED for 35 years. Bottom line, if you want a house built, are you going to choose a bulder who has built homes for 35 years or someone who has WATCHED homes being built..that is the difference between Clinton and Obama. Aside from the fact that Obama is a little scary, this is a guy who says he is NOT a racial person..and then he attends a church with a minister who JUST gave a life time achievement award to Louis Farrakhan(who hates white people)???

To Tim:I'm not trying to tell you how how to vote. That is your right. I telling you why I vote the way I do. I don't lieten to O'Reilly[Curley] and I don't believe in man-made gobal warming.I don't think oil profits is any of the government's business. And I said I may be wrong about the cigarette settlement.

Why have my most recent blogs been posted?

Posted by: Tim on Feb 19, 2008 at 08:30 PM
BillB, ANWR would only provide about 3% of our need, what a red herring. Only the oil companies would benefit from it, not the consumers. Do you ever take the time to research any facts before you make a comment? Or do you just listen to Hannity, Rush & O'Reilly (Larry, Moe & Curley) & regurgitate whatever they say? If oil companies aren’t gouging consumers, then explain how they are making record profits? If it was all based on supply & demand, then their profits would be proportional. Don’t believe in man-made global warming? Do you even understand the process of burning fossel fuels & what it does to the atmosphere? You comment about ‘the Dems’, so obviously you are a Republican, I am an Independent. Take this moment & tell me why I should support a Republican over a Democrate this time. I’m not a closeted homosexual, not a pedophile, not into Meth, don’t take advantage of people. If those are your only selling points, then I don’t think I can vote on your side

To BillB. Why was a humble foreign policy ok when Bush ran on it and not for Hillary. If we are ever perceived as the school yard bully it will make us less safe. Maintain allies and try to find common ground ever chance we can, save the big stick talk when diplomacy fails. As for your comments concerning cigarette settlements and global warming, I feel comfortable leaving my comments where they are and yours where they are and letting anyone reading these blogs to decide who is the most reasonable. I know lower income people received tax cuts, just incredibly distortional. Why does Warren Buffett challenge all CEO’s of major corporations to show how they pay a higher marginal rate than their secretary? He is even offering $1,000,000 and so far no takers. What confuses me Bill is that I don’t feel that you are in a group that benefits from these tax policies but are among the group that feel enlightened enough to fight for them. Vote for the issues that matter for all - Hillary 08

I think Hillary will make a good president, she supported her husband on descions he made. Yes BIll lied but tell me one person who dont when they are caught with their pants down. In the 8 years Bill was president we had a surplus now we have nothing. We had money in our pockets now we have lint. um yeah I rather vote for Hillary who does have experience in the white house and have a husband who can assist what other choices do we have. A newbie senator and a republican who supported all the major um crooks in Washington. easy choice dont ya think

To Glenn:Hillary's humble foreign policy is what worries me.[Carry a big stick.]I think that A.N.W.R. has lots of oil but dems won't let them drill.I don't beleive in man-made gobal warming. I may be worng but I think the balanced budget was on the back of the cigarette settlement which is still in the courts. I guess you think only the rich got tax cuts.

Hillary would make a great President. She is so smart. Who cares about personal issues. Lord knows, we need someone that is smart enough with experience to run this country. This country is in the worst shape that I have ever seen it. As far as Ted Kennedy is concerned, and the Kennedy clan, they have some real personal issues.

Posted by: Glenn on Feb 19, 2008 at 12:12 PM
BillB, I am so glad you asked what would make Hillary a great president. It will start by not using trickle down economics as a fix for everything. Remember the balanced budgets? You may like Bush’s comfort the comfortable plan but I find it immoral. She will work toward universal healthcare, I find it remarkable that the people that cry over the unborn are so indifferent about them when they are actually breathing. She is our best chance on getting out of this god awful war in Iraq, where thousands have died and fortunes spent. She will have a humble foreign policy much like her husbands (and the one Bush said he would have) America can not allow issues like energy independence and global warming to remain in the hands of republicans. I will repeat that the wedge issues of the past will have little effect this time around and people will vote the real issues that affect their families. HILLARY 08!!!!!!!!!!

I THINK HILLARY WILL MAKE A GREAT PRESIDENT. SHE IS WELL SPOKEN, HAS GOOD IDEAS, AND MOST IMPORTANT I THINK SHE IS SINCERE WHEN SHE SAYS SHE WILL BRING OUR TROOPS HOME.

Good Job Bill! Mommy will make you happy when you get home.

Several years spent on a Universal Health Care Package that never was, the refusal of support from some of the most 'elite' of her OWN PARTY, mass exodus by her campaign staff, and a campaign that would have gone bankrupt if not for the 5 million dollar loan she made to herself. Yep, sounds that she's more than qualified to unite not only her party, but the entire world, lead an entire country, balance the nation's budget, and finally get that pesky Universal Health Care thing nailed down. Come on, use your head. The only experience she has is being first lady of Arkansas, and the U.S. and a couple of terms in the Senate in which time, records show, she accomplished NOTHING ...Look it up! And for those who are planning on electing the leader of the free world just because "It's time for a woman." Great plan. History will show that it always works out for the best when qualification was ignored and replaced with "Because they were due." Not really...It doesn't at all.

Now why should we believe anything that comes out of Bills face he was able to pull the wool over Hiliary's eyes and so will every other country leader in the world my gosh she lived with him and he was able to pull it off so what happens with someone a half a world away i guess this could be considered experience but is it the kind we need we need change and politics as usual is all we can expect from Hiliary But it all depends on ur DEFINITION of experience sound familiar

Posted by: jill on Feb 18, 2008 at 07:06 PM
good for you glenn. i agree that hillary will make a great president !!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Anonymous on Feb 18, 2008 at 05:30 PM
I was for Obama for awhile, but he is not giving ideas on how to fix anything,Hillary or McCain would be better

Posted by: LeRoy on Feb 18, 2008 at 05:09 PM
The superdelegate situation will tear the party apart. Hillary says she has enough superdelegate votes to win it. They don't have to go with what the voters of the states do.

Posted by: Vicky on Feb 18, 2008 at 02:22 PM
Go Hillary!!!!!! We are for you...you have the answers to our problems.

Posted by: Tim on Feb 18, 2008 at 02:22 PM
I've been a registered independent for 20 years, never voted for Clinton either time, however... Did he tell a lie... Let's see... Ted Haggard (christian leader/Meth/Male prostitute seeker/Bush White House Confidant, Mark Foley (against child internet porn while propositioning young congressional pages), Neil Bush (savings and loan), Senator Craig (opposed to gay issues except in public restrooms, GWB (WMD, etc, name it, there's a text limitation here), Tom Delay and Jack Ambermoff, Jeff Gannon Male prostitute/whitehouse reporter/same time as Haggard/umm, Duke Cunningham's bribes and kickbacks, Bob Barr who's against abortion except when he wants his wife to have one, I could go on and on. I know that Clinton gets hammered for giving Marc Rich a pardon, but has anyone ever wondered who the main lawyer was pushing for the pardon? Scooter Fibby, er I mean Libby. Now that's entirely another list... Bill Bennett realized virtues after he was minus a million bucks or so.

For all the people who have posted negative blogs about President Clinton or WSAZ’s covering of the story, I wonder if you would have the same criticism if they were covering George H Bush or another former president that rarely makes it to our area. Bill Clinton resided over one of the best times economically and maintained and strengthened our allies around the world. He certainly brought about shame on himself for his sexual indiscretions, but as anyone paying attention knows, he has plenty of company and even in the Republican Party. Come to think of it, I don’t remember the closeted homosexuals being as prevalent in the Democratic party. Abortion rates were down, wages up, balanced budget and I could go on. Certainly Ohio will vote for Ohio’s interests this time and not be fooled again by a hypocritical narrowly defined moral agenda that favors the wealthy. Hillary will make a great president if given the chance.

WHO CARES.... HE LIED ONCE WHAT WOULD KEEP HIM FROM LYING AGAIN OR EVEN HIS WIFE.

Posted by: Becky on Feb 18, 2008 at 11:31 AM
i WAS on the obama bandwagon, but not any more. this country has big problems and needs a president who can actually fix them -- NOT JUST TALK ABOUT THEM!

Correction: The next Clinton slogan will be: "No more slogans- we are moving to 1600 with or without you, Americans. Super Delegates, Get On the Bus."

I saw him briefly. That's all it took. *wink*

President Clinton's narcissism shouts for him to say that Governor Strickland endorsed his wife without discussing it with him first. Who's campaign is this anyway? Is he going to be her Vice President?

I wish WSAZ would not have come across my TV at 9pm on Sunday eveing with "BREAKING NEWS" on his arrival at Marietta College. This ruins the integrity about what "Breaking News" is all about... Please think twice before doing this type of action again. THANKS

EVEN THOUGH I AM A REGISTERED REPUBLICAN, I SO VERY MUCH BELIEVE IN HILLARY'S ISSUES.
