CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The federal government will start sending out the checks for the President's stimulus plan next month.

Many businesses have been coming up with ways to lure you into spending your money at their store.

Three companies will give an additional ten percent if you use your stimulus check to by a gift card. One of those is Kroger.

So when can you expect your money?

If your refund is being directly deposited into the bank, it will appear in your account sometime between May 2nd and 16th.

If your Social Security number ends between 00 and 09, the check is scheduled to be mailed by May 16th. Checks will continue to be mailed each week until the final allotment goes out by July 11th.

they said june 06 the stimulus check will arrive today in the mail but until now there's is no check for june 06 2009.is this true or no.are we still get the stimulus check for june 06.cause my last ss.no is 27.until there is no check in the mail.

I have just read some of the comments concerning the upcoming stimulus checks. The only comment I have is those individuals should have a better command of the English language. The sentence structure is terrible as is the word usage. They all should have paid more attention in English classes (assuming they attended these classes) while in school. Those entitled to the checks will receive them so why not "keep the mouth shut" and not prove to those who know you what a "dufus" you really are.

I take care of mom she is blind.she did not get a stimulus check .this is not her fault.our goverment wont let her drive to get a job.why? If he is entitled to a stimulus check, they should keep it to pay on his back child support. I sincerely hope you get it and all you deserve. Please use some of the money to go to school and learn how to spell. Thanks

I ame owed over 50,000.00 in back child support and have been told by the judge in my case that i will never see this money. I want to know why wouldnt i get his stimulus check as part of a payment? It's a start,It's like no one cares because it's not owed to walfaire. I want to live too.

I got my Stimulus check today Monday July 7th! Yeah! Despite what the Irs rep said about they were mailing it out on the 7th! I swear I think you could talk to 25 Irs reps and they would all say something differant! Yeah now I get to go spend some money and pay some bills! Hope everyone else received theirs!

I got the same letter....and it's the 5th and nothing...I talked to the IRS and she told me that mine won't be mailed until JULY 7th (monday) I would have thought they would have at least tried to mail them out the day before... Idiot Jerks...oh well...so maybe wednesday or thursday...who knows...........

My last 2 dig are 84 and I have the letter saying I can EXPECT my payment BY July 5th..LOL..I'll post tomorrow the 5th as soon as the mail comes to let you all know if it's true.

Just talked to Irs representative and she said the July 4th checks are do to go out tomorrow July 4th...I asked her how will they go out on a holiday and she wasn't sure if it would be mailed out today or the following saturday or monday..sounded like everything is computer generated... so darn I thought maybe I'd get mine early, but i called to check the status because this morning my mailman gave me my neighbors mail, and I had no mail! So hopefully we will get them by next week, and she did state "it can take up to two weeks to receive it" anyone with ending numbers in the 80's get theirs yet?????

My info showed up on the Irs website on June 22nd... I received the letter yesterday june 30th..I am in with the group of people with ss#'s in the 80's to be mailed out July 4th...I didn't get my check today, but was thinking maybe I will get it early since my info was on the irs website 10 days ago...I will keep you posted... Has anyone in the 80's received their check early???? Just curious..

Will do Anon!! I checked over the weekend I didn't recieve anything. However, I will keep my fingers, toes, and everything else that we all get our checks soon. If I do not get it by the Fourth of July then @ least I will have money for later on. I will most definitely keep everyone posted on my end. Jackie, where did you go to school? Anyway, your check should be sent to my house because I deserve it more than you. LOL. Jackie, what address did you use when you filed your tax return? That is the address you gave the IRS and that is where it will be sent unless you contacted them and gave a new address. All this info is on www.irs.gov if you were not too lazy to look it up. If you have moved since filing your return and have not informed them then your check will be sent back to IRS and they will have no way of knowing where you are.

My best guess is that they will be mailed out by the third. That way we can still get them on Monday or Tuesday. This is also the week that I should be getting mine mailed out. Let us all know candee when yours comes. I will let you know when I get mine.

hey mr anon, igot onto the irs website today and our informatoin was there.. and it told us we would get our check around the fourth.. and it also said it would be for the amount that we thought.. im really happy about that.. thanks again for everything..keep on giving out the good advice.. i thought it was great.. i know some people have been giving you a hard time,but i found out you really know what you are talking about!!!! again thanks so much...

it takes at least 12 weeks for an amended return to get your extra refund. maybe longer for the stimulus money.

thank you mr anon and shannon for the information..it reaaly helped me to understand how to look for and when to expect our check..i know that it probally will be late for the fact the 4th is on a friday..ill have to look on the 30th to see how much it will be.. but how ever much anything is better than nothing at all.. some people are getting letters before they come and some arent why is that? i just wonder if we will get one..well anyway it will be good when it gets here.. again thanks to both of you for all the helpful information..and good luck to every one who is still watin,give it time and it will come.

There are many reason why your check didn't show up on time, besides owing back taxes, student loans or back child support. Even if you got your taxes in before April 15th, if the IRS didn't complete them by April 15th, they'll be late. Also, the IRS has admitted that thousands of checks were mailed to wrong addresses, and paper checks are taking longer than expected.

Blue: information won't be given on the website about your check until one week before it's due to be mailed. So if the site says it will be mailed on July 4th, information won't be available until maybe around June 30th, then it will say something. That's how it was with mine on June 6th, i found info. on it around June 1st. And, it was quick to be mailed. I received mine on the 9th. Good luck.

probably the first of that week. nothing is going to actually pop up in the air or anything but it will just say on there when it will be mailed and how much. dont be suprised if its only six hundred instead of twelve hundred. alot of people are confused about that.

thank you mr anon thank you for getting back so quick,i was worried that maybe we wasnt going to get a check but then when i looked at the ss#s i seen it should be around the fourth of july,we have filed taxes every year..so i can wait until then for mine... when should i check the site again?? and again thank you mr anon for being so nice and answering my question...some of the people on here are being so cruel,because they want answers but they need to be just a little bit nicer.the pop thing didnt come up the only thing that it said was no information was there yet..i put in my husbands because hes first on the taxes.

Hey Blue, it usually means that its not time for your check yet. You need to go to irs.gov and look at the chart. It goes by the last two digits of the persons SS # whose name is on the return first. It will usually pop up and give you the amount you are due the week of your due date. Good Luck. How's that people? Anon was nice and didn't give Blue a smart *ss answer.

Anon: i have no ties to the area. Was just searching the web for stimulus information and came across this website. It has been very entertaining reading others "stupid" questions! Ha Ha. And i agree with you, let it out sometimes! and my kids know better, i just don't show it in front of them (well, not all the time)! I was trying so hard to save my $1200 i received on June 9th, but now only have about 90 left of it. I paid some bills i was behind on, thanks to my lazy ex-husband quitting his job after only 1 month! Good luck everyone else!

some of my family has already gotten their checks but im still watin on mine.. they got letters a couple of days before they got theirs..the govt also said they are goin by ss# but that isnt true a few friends got theirs,and they had high #slike in the 8,&9s so i think they are just sendin them out how they feel like it..i also heard that all the checks are supposed to be out by the 25th of this month.. who knows the govt will send them when they feel like it.. so ill just hold out hope that mine will be here soon.. and just keep walkin to save on gas.

What does the county have to do with the checks the Government is issuing. I don't think it's up to the county, or city, or state to give you your money, unless you know something i don't. IT'S FROM THE GOVERNMENT!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways, i received my money today (June 9th) 1200.00 like i was promised, like what was said in my letter, like what was said on the website, because i checked. It was mailed (i believe) on the 6th of June, like what was said on the website. That was pretty fast to get to me (i'm in KS) and the check came from Texas. THANK GOD! I took my boys out for a well deserved meal. Good luck to the rest of you!

Do any of you look at the IRS website to see how much you are getting. It's right there! Tells you how much and when. Look at the posts, somewhere down the line the web address is there. Don't be griping, read the website. It tells you if you owe on back anything, the gov. will take it! Plus the IRS sends you a letter telling you how much to expect and when to get it!

To Anon Yes he is a joke, i tell him all the time that how much I hate dead beats.But there is a little more to that, he gives her money every week ,pays for all school clothes, all books, and shoes, needing at school, every thing that a child would need, and boy does she need alot, she is now 18, but he owes back pay now. it just makes me so mad, that I have to give up things for my kids, for another one,and yes the mother of her is very well off , i know that it does not matter, about her money, but , my kids do without so much and i have a 16 year old, and an 19 year old, never have seen child support myself, and that is what I bring up to him all the time, see what I go through. Maybe it is time to pack it up, and me and my kids go elese where, he really does not care that I have put my kids off, so many times for her, it seems like the more she gets the more she wants.Its not her fault, but she is old enough to know, hay enough is enough, we have bought her 2 cars already.

I was supposed to have received my check on May 23rd which was a Friday and it came on May 27th (delayed because of Memorial Day). If you are wondering where the heck your money is, call this number, 1-866-234-2942 and be prepared to wait on hold for half an hour.

I got my stumulus check for the full amount promised . Last two were 23 , and it was sent may 30 , so i received it pretty quickly.

HEY "GOT MINE"! How did you get your stimulus already!? My last 2 of my social are 33, (you said yours is 38!)and the website says mine won't be MAILED and ISSUED until June 6th! Not fair, how does that work!? SO NOT RIGHT! Plus, i have not received a letter in the mail telling me what my amount is supposed to be. But, it does say on the website $1200 will be issued on June 6th. I need gas and food NOW! My boys eat alot, i can't keep up, and with them out of school for the summer, it's ridiculous. They eat contantly. At least during the school year they get the free lunches and breakfast, so i don't buy as much food. The gas here (KS) just went down to 3.62! COOL! and i don't have enough money to fill up, and i bet when i do have enough to fill up, the price will skyrocket!!!!!!! crazy how that works!

i read the leter from the mom who was on foodstamps after her hubsand had heart atach she ha dto stay home i got hurt at work i cannot go bac to my job now i have a lung diease i can not go around any one sick i got a cold and it goes in to pnemonia i do not want to stay home i would rather work but i am to sick to do so i get foodstamps and anm on socialsecurity it is enought barley to pay bills but i manage church is a big part of my life i can go when my back will let me i have to get up and walk around at church can not sit to long do not judge everyone the same there are good people out there down on ther luck

Dear Worried, I think your husband is a joke. Why isnt he paying child support to his ex-wife for his kid? I hope you never have any kids with him and expect to see child support payments, cause you know it aint gonna happen sister. And yes, you should recieve the money for you and your two kids.

I filed jointly, and claimed 2 kids. but I had to do an Injured Spouse, will I still get my money, I have worked to hard, for fork it over, to an ex wife, I was not the one that layed down to have her, I know that sounded mean, but hay it is the truth, I have my own 2 kids to worry about, I never even see child support, I have as far as went and got a Lawyer, and he even said that the State was a joke, but do I get my mopney...I worked to hard for my money

I would like to let everyone know if you were due to receive your rebate already. It may pay to call and check on it.We filed jointly and my husbands last 2# of SS# are 00. We had not received any information so I called the IRS and finally got through. They said we had to resubmit our tax copies because they were seperated from they payment (lost). They show our payment but not the tax files. If I had not called it would be late in the year before they would have notified us. Now it is going to take 6-8 more weeks once they receive the copies.

My husband and I filed joint tax return which I work full time and we only received 600.00. I know another couple who's spouse don't work and they received 1200.00, they also received a refund on their tax return. I would like to know how someone who didn't worked received more money. It was my understanding that if you didn't make at least 3,000.00 you wasn't intitled to any money and that included a stay at home spouse unless they were receiving a retirement or social security check...so what up...I think this whole deal is to catch the cheaters...

My husband and I filed joint, I work full time and we only received $600.00. I know another couple who received $1200 and the wife didn't work and filed joint. I would like to know how she was intitled to it and I wasn't....

We all know that there is something in this for Bush or we would'nt be receiving this little bit of money. Come on people you know when you are pumping that gas in your vehicles that money is going right back into the hands of George Bush. It's almost like he's giving everyone a loan and he gets his money back in gas. Because "WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" knows that we never get help unless there is something there for the Politics!!! I feel sorry for our Country it is going down hill. Everything is so expensive that we can't even afford gas and food. Is Bush going to send us all a check for some food to so we can feed our families. Well why not he sends it to other countries and takes care of them and what they need. What about our people and our homeless people!!! Gas here in Kansas is 3.73 and milk is around 3.78, what is it there!? It's getting ridiculous. I told my kids i was going to trade in my explorer for a YUGO or a motorcycle with a double sidecar! I live to far away from work to ride my bicycle (14 miles), or i would be doing that or walking.

Are the stimulus checks sent individually or as joint checks if you file jointly. My ss# was in group of first mailed checks to be issued and I have not received a check yet. In the notice from the IRS is said a letter would be sent prior to issuing the checks, we have not received the letter yet either. Please comment

Does anyone know how long it is taking from the time a paper check is scheduled to be mailed to actually get to you. I'm curious. Mine will be mailed June 6th. Were you required to file or only file to get the refund? If you were required to file then your mom is not entitled to claim you as a dependent. Go to your preparer and discuss the situation to see if maybe it should be amended. good luck

hello people i am writing to encourage you all on your finances. we all need some type of extra money and i look at this as just a little help. i am not going to complain but i pray that this money that you will be receiving will be used to help you all in any way as possible. some people will not be getting any money and they are wishing they are getting even one dollar. remember to pray when you receive it and ask God, how will you want me to spend this money? when we do not give back to the Lord than the money will just leave you hands and pockets quickly. there are a lot of hungry people truely needing food and shelter but we are screaming at each other about 100.00-1,200.00 that will be gone soon. i pray that we all can come to know that we need Jesus in our lves.

I am not getting a stimulus rebate. I got married in September of 2007, before the marriage I lived with my mom while she put me through college. I did work part time and filed my taxes jointly with my husband, he works full time, has a son who we have every other day and he also pays child support for but did not claim him. Now since my mom claimed me which is correct( I am not complaining about that) my husband or I will get nothing. That doesn't seem right to me, he wasn't claimed just me. I guess I'm just bummed out but not all that surprised since thats the way things usually go. It's hard to catch a break! We are both hard workers, Owell I guess I shouldn't complain too much at least we still have our jobs. I was just wandering if anybody else is in a similar situation.

If you want the gov't to control gas, food and the cost of everything, go live in a socialist republic like the USSR. Oh wait, they realized that socialism wasn't the way to go. Capitalism is a great thing. The gov't can no more regulate the price of gas as they can the price of your Starbucks Mochalatta double frapachino. Last year, a poll was done that asked if gas prices were too high. Guess what? The overwhelming majority said prices were ok, esp. since a gallon of milk was $3-4, a gallon of gas should be, too. Guess what, shortly after that poll, gas prices skyrocketed and so did the price of milk. It is no longer supply and demand, it is about how much the gas companies want to make off of you and how much you will pay. Don't like the high prices of gas, drive less or car pool. Personally, I have had enough of gov't in my life, and I don't want them to tell me what I will pay for a gallon of gas or a loaf of bread.

My check was suppose to come on the 2th my bf and my mother received their's and my last 2 of my Social Security number is lower then both of theirs and I havn't even received mine yet. I called the IRS and they told me they don't even have my papers or it hasn't even been processed yet. I think its stupid. It's nice to know that you can send in your personal information and not receive anything that they tell you that you will get. They tell me that if i don't receive it in the next 3 weeks i would have to refile which i shouldn't have to do because they can't seem to find my papers to process. So yeah i see why some of you are mad about not getting what they promised you.

well, it looks like my last comment didnt make it on here. Anyway, to Michelle, I too hate to see these lazy people who wont work getting nice checks that we get to pay for. The only thing that I disagree with is some people who are disabled and cant hold down a job, can still get out and do things that need to be done. such as cutting wood, mowing grass, etc. These are things that may need to be done for them to survive. They cant afford a lawn man to take care of it for them. You dont know how many days these people are layed up in bed after they have done these chores. Congrats to you hard working tax payer on receiving the check on time.

Hello..I received my stimulous check this morning in my account.It stated it would be deposited on May 16..So it was their a day early.It was only for 300.00.I have a fiance and he claimed our baby who was born in Dec.07..So he wont get his until July through a paper check.But the 300.00 is money I didn't have.So that will help with some bills.:)

Did not recieve my direct deposite. Went on line and check Soc. # and called IRS. Both said tech. difficulties and showed no record of my filing or stimulus. I could use the $$ but will not kill me. It would just be nice to see something posted on the issues going on so I can plan. A friend told me that if you filed with H&R that it would be a hard check even with a deposited return. well for everyone upset that their checks haven't been deposited yet, is there a possibility that when you filed your taxes that you filed a Rapid Refund, RAL, or their were f8iling fees removed from your check?? That is what happened to me.I was suppose to have my check deposited and it wasn't so I called the IRS and they informed me that because I had filing fees deducted from my 07 tax return, that my check would be mailed to me. Which is really ridiculous because that wasn't made clear. But it is posted now on www.irs.gov, so you can check that out. Also, there is a link called Where is my Stimulus Check where you can enter all your info and you will be given info on your check and when you can expect it!! Good luck!!

Judy-Does your daughter and son-in-law work? If not then they are not entitled to 600 a piece. Therefore, the kids would have just gotten 300 a piece, making that a total of 600. As for you are you retired? If so, that is why you only got 300. Just curious. Just a little information for you and according to the stub it does not have to be claimed on the 2008 taxes. Just thought you would like to know.

Poor people on a fied income. we are all on a fixed income. we don't have the choice to make as much as we want. the tax rebate is for people with up to $150,000 yearly income, although that may be comfortable they are by no means rich. have you seen what higher incomed workers pay in taxes? the rebates should be distributed proportionately throughout the tax base. and to those who get an earned income credit but don't contribute a dime. shut up! you are stealing my money. the money will get there when it gets there. suck it up and learn to manage your money instead of relying on a gift to get you by. you dont need cable, you dont need multiple phones or a new car. for your own sake learn to be responsible

I just wanted to say that what the news and people are posting on what people are gonna get back is wrong. Everyone that is getting them are NOT getting 1200 a couple and 300 per child, its coming out to be 300 per person you claimed.

i think people should just relax the checks are comming.it just takes time..i know how the gas prices are and its crazy..just the same as food prices,if you really stop and look at how things are going,the average working class people just dont stand a chance.. but the people who have high paying jobs do..its a shame our world has to be this way but thats how it is.. so just hang in there,things will get better..i for one found a good solution for the gas prices, i walk to work everyday!!!!!

We are grateful for the money we received but we do not think it is fair that we did not receive anyting for our 17 year old? Does the Govt. think that these kids are cheaper to raise? Also, we claimed our 18 year old who is in college, because she still lives at home. She did not get anything although she made over $3000. We were hoping either we would get $$ for her (we told her if we received anything for her we would give it to her)or she would get it for herself. She doesn't get money either way. Hmmmmmmmm... We are grateful for our $1200.

people that gets a check going to their banks give it a few days then check & if nothing happens try to call some one & find out what's going on & when u call the right no. put it on comments for others to use if they need it. but at least wait 2 or 3 days just to be sure & don't jump the gun.

PEOPLE!, this is what you do. CALL the irs - 1-800-829-1040. OR -------- https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/irfof/IRServlet?app=IRACTC. Put that in your address box, that should take you there directly. It should tell you everything you need to know. Everyone in my dept. at my work (CCH-WOLTERSKLUWER)(WICHITA, KS)used our software (complete tax) did direct deposit, and they all received their money anywhere from MAY 7TH to MAY 9TH. Except for me, i did do dir. dep. on my taxes but applied for a RAL (got denied) but still my stim. will be MAILED on June 6th. I have made other comments, read if you will for more info. Gas (ks) went up to 3.55. If you are having a financially hard time, get rid of something, or lower something on it, bare minumum (phone, cable, etc.) i did. hang in there!

I think that anon needs to keep his/her comments to themselve.. You do not know what everyones situation is.. Maybe some people are depending on this money to not starve or pay bills.. No maybe they didnt know they were getting it three months ago but maybe something changed in there lives and now it is what they are depending on to survive.. I know I work everyday have three children and a house payment of over four hundred dollars and I don't get child support for my kids it will be nice when it gets here and yes it will help with food and this crazy gas price.. yes I would make it with out it but it makes life a little easier and less stressful. Someone who cares: I have worked in the income tax industry for many years. Look at line 37 on the 1040A form or line 63 on the 1040. That will give you the info for figuring what you will receive. If any of you want to post your numbers on here I will tell you what you should get. Everything that has been published has said a that couple would receive up to $1200 bucks. Anywhere from $600-$1200 per couple and $300 per qualifying child. A qualifying child is one who was under the age of 17 at the end of 2007. For people who take turns claiming their kids, like divorced people, they may be eligible to receive 300 more next year for the child that the ex spouse claimed this year. I know it is very confusing. It isnt the easiest thing to figure out. But if you want to know more about it contact your local income tax office of your choice and they should be able to help explain it.

someonewhocares, you may get anywhere from 300-600 per person depending on your tax liability minus any credits you received. No one has said you WILL get 1200 bucks.

YEAH!!!! Just checked the bank on-line again and guess what?!?!?!?!? Our rebate check ACTUAL CAME and for the correct amount (1800.00)!!!! So hang in there people....there is hope!!!!! This little piece of info might help...we had H&R Block do our taxes and we had direct deposit and we paid our fees right then....so I'm guessing IF you did all that, then your check should be on time. Again, hang in there people, at least now we know they did do some direct deposits today!

Well, todays Friday May 9, the big PAYDAY. just checked on-line and so far.....NO DEPOSIT. I'll keep checking and if I do get it today, I'll post back and let ya know....that way maybe it will help others from panicking to know at least SOME is getting deposited today and there is hope. My niece is suppose to get hers today too so, I'll let you know about that as well.

I work for the company that produces the "Complete Tax" software so i do my own taxes for free. Also, i did not pay to get the rapid refund, i was denied that, so all it cost me was 19.99 for "the bank" to direct deposit my money and that took about 14 days, and also, i have used the "Advanced Earned Income Credit", and you don't get much out of that. The total amount you can get for the year i believe is based on your yearly income which, divided by 12 months, can be not much, but it can help somewhat. And, once again, I WILL NOT use the rapid refund next year, REPUBLIC BANK SUCKS! But, some of us have ex-husbands that owe $45,000 in BACK child support, and will take what we can get, and do get excited about a little extra money coming to us. It's pretty much X-mas for us! So, i guess we get a little pi**ed off when the gov. says things that brighten our spirits, and then are let down when we don't understand it all. I guess, I wait.

Well patient girl, im on here trying to educate the poor and ignorant people of appalachia. For one, if you hadnt paid an extra $100-$200 for rapid refund then that would be extra money in your pocket. But, people think, oh why not its free money i'll do it and get my money back tomorrow. If people would plan their withholding properly they would get more money back with each paycheck to pay monthly bills. There is also a thing called advanced earned income credit that almost no one ever uses. I realize that getting your return prepared isnt cheap, but you are paying for knowledge. Be smart with your money and keep more of it by not using bank products.

If filing or preparation fees were deducted from your 2007 Refund or you received a rapid refund, you will be receiving a check instead of a direct deposit. Please see the Paper Check section of the Payment Schedule. This came straight from the IRS.gov website. You can check on "where's my stimulus payment". Hey, you can call too! 1-800-829-1040, don't press the option for the stimulus payment, it is just a recording. I just kept pressing 0, someone will eventually answer and then you will be on hold listening to the "Nutcracker Suite" for around 20 mins. Kind of ironic huh!? Nutcracker! aren't they!?

I bring home around 1500 a month and with my rent close to 600 there isn't much left over for a single mom of two teen boys with no child support. I was truly needing the xtra 1200, but my home phone got shut off and next will be my internet and basic cable. I did apply for rapid refund but got denied because of the "banks terms" not because i owed anybody anything! Republic Bank is horrible! I was denied because of the ratio of my AGI (27,000) to the refund (5,000) i was getting back was too high! Of course it's going to be high. I make a small amount of money and i get a large amount back. Everyone in that siuation will get denied! My stimulus check will be mailed on June 6th, untill then i will continue to go to the food bank, have no home phone, internet or cable. Yes it sucks, but have to deal with it. I used COMPLETE TAX software, applied for and got denied the RAL. You will get screwed this way. I was hoping my son would have a great 14th B-day this year, he will just have 2 wait

this really sucks. so basically if you got ur refund rapid you will be getting the check in the mail? I usually don't care about such things because I never trust the government, but with gas being $4 a gallon and food costs rising, it has been terribly diificult for my husband and I. We make a decent living, but there seems to never be enough. we need this money, can anyone confirm this? the deposit I received for the RAL actually says: Deposit Credit from TAX FIN SERVICES.

hello just got some more news on rebate checks. you know when h&r block do your tax and you get the direct deposit well come to find out h&r block put their account first. irs deposit it to them than H&r block will send you the direct deposit. so if you look at your bank statement you we see it was not deposit from irs it will say h&r block. so i was suppose to get my check friday 9, 2008 but because their was a third party involved i will get it in the mial. so people this is why some of your checks is running late. check it out with you direct deposit from h&r block. on your bank statements.

To Evelyn and Allie: First Evelyn, if they are saying you didnt file and owe them money, then you may not get any of the money, they will keep it to pay that bill. You need to call the IRS asap and do what they tell you to prove that you filed in 1992. If you are getting any money it will be sent to you by mail. Good luck. Now, Allie, If you can claim the other two on next years taxes, then we are being told that you will get the money for those two then. Hope you still got the EIC for two of them this year. If thats the case, make sure you check with your paid preparer for advice. Good luck to you as well.

If you people would read, you would see the answers in front of you. If there is a bank product used, RAL or RAC, then your check is going to be mailed to you. And for you people whining about needing this money so bad and want it to hurry up, havent you thought that back in early january, you didnt even know about getting this money? Its free money people, take it when you get it, dont be complaining about having to wait a couple months.

To "short end of the stick" and everyone else concerned about their amount- Unfortunately, the media has not done a good job of properly disseminating the correct info. The amount you get is based on what you pay in taxes, and other such variables. I was curious and wondered if the media was telling the truth, so I checked out the irs.gov website. They have a calculator you can use. I used it just to make sure of our amount. The best thing the media could have done was to report it as such; that there are variables and it is not a cut and dry thing.

Still not rebate check and was suppose to be deposited today. I used Taxact ERD not a RAL (Taxact uses Republic Bank and Trust Company) and still have not received. Bank shows no pending deposit as of 12 noon. Has anyone else had this problem and used Tax Act?

When you get a bank loan thru paid preparer, you are not charged those fees if you dont receive the one or two day loan. It is not their fault that you have bad credit or owe back taxes, child support, student loans, etc.. You will then owe your preparer for doing your return if the agency keeps your refund to pay off those past debts. However, as I said you will not be charged the loan fees or interest if you dont get it.

If anyone has applied for a Rapid Refund anywhere, you will get a paper check. I have called the IRS 4 times in less than 2 wks, 2 ppl told me dir. dep. and 2 ppl said paper checks. Even though i received my tax refund dir. dep. and i filed in January. If you apply for a RAL you are SCREWED on dir. dep. Through the eyes of the IRS what they see on your return (if applied for RAL) is a made up account, even though my refund was dir. dep. with my checking acct. info. on the return. The IRS needs to say that on the website or anywhere else the news reports. I used Complete Tax to file my return online, applied for the RAL, got denied for the RAL, and still had my refund direct deposit. IT'S THE RAL THAT SCREWS IT ALL UP! I am a single mom of 2 boys and am having a financially difficult time with gas and food and IRS tells me they will mail a check JUNE 6TH! Ridiculous!!!!!!

hello i called the irs today about my check. i asked them when will i be receiving the check? she asked me what was the last two of ss# 34 and she said i will get it on the 9th. i a said to her i thought they were giving it out a little earlier and she said yes it is early. i told her this was the original date they said in the begining. i think bush and all the rest of the people lied to us. i think the checks are still going out on the original dates as stated in the begining.

We were expecting ours today, but havent gotten it yet. I called the number posted below by Dee, and it says they cannot give any specific info on our stimulus payment. And says if we are eligible our check will be mailed June 27th. But we did direct deposit?? And the new schedule they put out said we would get it today. I also know quite a few other people who were supposed to get theirs in their accounts today. Sounds screwed up to me.

Hey guys, if you received the EIC (earned income credit) on your 2007 taxes it reduces the amount that you will get on this rebate. You would think that the government would have told people this, but I guess they didn't think that it was important.

STIMULUS CHECK: (HOGWASH) For those individuals whom are looking to receive that extra $300.00 per child. Good Luck if your child is 17. Government sees them as to OLD. But qualified on federal yearly taxes. "Qualify for the basic amount, you may receive an additional $300 for each qualifying child. BUT THE KICKER IS... "To qualify, a child must be younger than age 17" -- "BORN AFTER Dec. 31, 1990. That knocks out MOST HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES. I was really disappointed! Leave to our government AGAIN!!!

If you are expecting Dirct deposit and have not gotten it yet call the IRS 866-234-2942 and you can check the status of the stimulus check. This happened to me (should have had it today) but when I called the IRS it told me the 7th. you will need your socila (or whoevers is listed first on your return) and the total exemptions. I hope this helps, Im frusterated at not having it today,Im sure others are too, but heck what can we do.

I checked by bank account this morning and I got 29.95 from H and R Block wonder if that is all I will get, it was just weird, I mean 29.95?? has anyone else had weird things happen like that?? I know of one couple whom got 886.00 and was expecting 1200, Oh well guess it was 29.95 I did not have! I can go get a few drops of gas with that!!

You didnt get the short end of the stick. If you would read the info put out by the irs, it said people would receive $300-$600 per individual and $300 per qualifying child. which means under the age of 17. Also, if you received a bank product thru your paid preparer like hrblock or jackson hewitt then you will receive your money by mail, not direct deposit or on the debit card.

I just wanted to let every one know that I got the short end of the stick when it came to the amount I was to receive. I am a single mother with one child, so according to all the information I read and the information I received when I filed my taxes I was told and informed that I would get 900.00. Well, thats not the case. Because I only made 16,000.00 last year that makes me only qualified for 600.00 not 900.00 like I was made to believe I would get. I called the IRS and was told that since I did not make over a certain amount I would receive a lesser amount. I have not read anywhere that the stimulus amount was based on the amount of money you made last year. Has anyone else read this somewhere and I just did not look at the correct places or what. I know I shouldn't be upset over this, but when you think you're getting 900.00 and you only get 600.00 it is a disappointment. So word of advise get you tax returns out and look at the IRS website under stimulus calculator.

Saving your check is not helping the economy. The only way to help the economy with this check is to spend it on American products. That means to toshiba or sony flat screens kids!!! I have to say though, I think the government could hav done a better job stirring the economy if they had not issued the checks, but started infastructure improvement projects (like they did during the great depression). That might actually have a chance because that money would turnover many many times. However, with this plan, our rebate checks will turnover once, twice if we are lucky. this was a bad idea!

I was reading online that if you filed your taxes and did a Refund Anticipation Loan (RAL) or had your taxes deposited onto the H&R Block Prepaid Card you would not recieve your check via direct deposit but would recieve it in the mail! Has anyone else heard this? I hope it's not true

if you filed joint you should get back enough to file bankruptcy. What other choice do we have? Got to work to feed your kids, pay your utilites, have lunch money for the kids, and supplies for them to do homework and all the rest. Even with both people working and bringing a check home it just isn't enough. Charleston has great lawyers that would take your case.

So let me get this straight. Oil companies heavily fund both of Bush's election campaigns. Then Bush gives them tax breaks that they don't need. However, this is not enough so Bush returns some of our tax dollars to us so we can give it to you know who at the gas pump. This sounds like capitalism out of control. I am not advocating socialism, but it's obvious who is running our country and it's not "the people".

They go by whose name is first on the return. So if it's yours, it will be your SS number. If it's your husband, it's by his SS number.

When should my husband and I expect our rebate check? We filed jointly. My last two numbers are 51 and my husbands is 25...which one will they go by since we're married, his or mine? i was just reading what the people have been posting. i would like to add a comment about the refund checks. i do not know if you guys have seen the up to date on the checks going out. but the said that they would be sending the checks out starting April 28, 2008 with the last two of your social security numbers who received their income tax this year direct deposit. they was going to do this until friday which will be May 2, 2008. than after that the will send the people who received their regular income tax checks by mail will start receiving their checks in the mail by the last two of your social security number. it is how you file your original tax for this year this is the way you will be receiving your rebate checks!!!

Actually, Tommy, Dave is somewhat correct. My tax preparer gave me an information sheet concerning the stimulus package. It seems the rebate check will be counted as income for the next tax period, so you have to claim it. It is considered a loan and not a gift- you claim the loan, you do not claim a gift. Therefore, the IRS is correct. It will not reduce your refund or increase the amount owed, but it will be claimed. Good luck on your 2008 taxes. You may want to hold back the rebate check in case you owe for 2008.

Let's bring our troops home from Iraq and let them patrol our own borders. Then let's bring back corporal punishment. An eye for an eye. Then bring back prayer and the true foundations that our country was built upon. Let's quit being the world's police and protect and care for our own children. The way things are going looks like my children will have to move to another country to get a job. It use to be if you had a degree that your life would be better. Now a days that isn't true. I have a college degree and I am not better off infact I have more debt. Bring back our jobs and then we would not need a stimulus package. I don't see a presidential candidate that is suited for the job. I don't know that I would vote for any of them.

On the today show this morning, they said checks will be in the account holders account TODAY if your social security number last two digits is between 00 to 20. Haven't heard anything else about the rest of the last two numbers (21 to 99) EXCEPT people with direct deposit will have the checks in their accounts today, tomorrow or Wednesday. Wonder how much tax we will have to pay on this amount on this years tax return. You know we all have to claim our check amounts as additional income and pay the taxes on it next time we file our income tax. So- it's not a tax free rebate check. Oh- well, death and taxes are the only things guaranteed in this life!!!

Anonymous- You still don't get it. The war in Iraq is the war on terrorism. If we cut and run like Obama wants to do then the domestic body bag companies win. With a Republican controlled congress we declared war without a declaration of war, we tortured prisoners, detained indefinitely, and we are gonna fix the economy $600 at a time. Last night on FOX11 News at 10, Pres.Bush said the direct deposit checks are being released early. If your check is to be direct deposit, they said to check with your bank THIS Monday (the 28th), Tuesday(the 29th) and Wednesday(the 30th). Your check will be there.

They are just trying to get ahead in this Nancy Pelosi- Harry Reid led recession. It seems to me that gas prices weren't near this high when we had a Republican controlled congress. How about raising your taxes- that should help you buy gas. In reference to dormancy fees on gift cards I found this on Kmart.com at the very bottom it says FTC gift card settlement. Kmart I guess was sued for charging little fees for inactivity and eating up balances on people gift cards. They are not doing that anymore and one would assume Sears won't be charging silly dormancy fees either since they are now a sister company. If you have a gift card that you believe was impacted by a dormancy fee, you may have the fee refunded to you. Upon verification of the amount deducted from the gift card Kmart will refund to you the deducted fees. There are three ways to request verification and refund. You may send an email to the address below, call toll free (866) 463-6677, or mail an inquiry to the address below. In each case, it will take approximately 10 business days for the refund to be processed after verification. In order to process your request, please provide your name, address, phone number, and Kmart gift card account number located on the back of the card.

Remember during Christmas when WSAZ ran the story of charges and surcharges on those cards and if you did not use the money in a certain amount of time you lost the entire face value of the cards. Wonder if these cards have the same restrictions. can you tell us more WSAZ????

To SK: the IRS will be direct depositing you stimulus payment if you chose that option on your tax refund, not mailing a check. And in addition to Kroger, Sears/ Kmart will be giving the extra 10% gift cards, which you can use in their stores or online, and it includes landsend.com I saw the info on Kmart's website today.

With the markup they already enjoy at grocery stores this isn't much. Now if Kroger's or anywhere else would give you the groceries in anticipation of the checks they probably would have all the business they could handle. See people are strapped & they need help NOW there is a lot of folks out there ,raising kids,etc. and if they could lighten the load today then they would gladly give up their little checks now. This money is not much. Ya, if your broke it is something but really it's not going to turn a depression around. What it will do is help people one month by going to pay bills .That's it ,sorry Bush is doing his best.

Now my favorite restaurant in the world Kentucky Fired Chicken has thrown in twith these nuts and is grilling chicken now. Chicken was never meant to be grilled only fried regular or extra crispy. So people I say get busy we have work to do they is two states in front of us we in WV have to reclaim our top spot as best fed in the whole country go down to the foodland or kroger and get a cube of regular mountain dew a sack of Lays chips and some good ball park big red smokeys with a big bowl of chili and have a grill out tomorrow to celebrate the fourth of July in style and may I say God bless the USA and coal miners too.

If we don't have hard winters snakes and mosquitoes thrive, for one. Mosquitoes are a large part of fish diet. And snakes keep rodents in check. But too much cold hurts other things that call for warmer temps. Quail is one thing that comes to mind that suffer in the frigid temps. We just don't understand all of the workings of these things. But it is all to keep a balance-many times in things we ourselves have killed off, such as bear and wolves. Even if we don't like some species, they all serve a purpose and nature helps keep that balance. Our world really was wonderfully made. With all the changes in temperature, we still have seasons. You can know it will be cold in winter and hot in summer. The excesses serve a purpose we sometimes can not see. Strive to learn of all of her wonders, not follow blindly.

Shouldn't I be turning on the air conditioner instead? It's the 2nd of July. Not saying it's global warming but it doesn't seem right. Haven't heard of any heat warning anywhere is the US so far this summer. Great for us but doesn't feel right.

However, none of the samples show such a dramatic change in such a short period of time. I am a smoker and I will admit that my second hand smoke can and probably will effect the lungs of a non-smoker. The tons of carbon monoxide and other pollutants that we release into our atmosphere HAS TO have an effect on our atmosphere. True story: there was a scientist that day after day after day couldn't figure out why the sky was so blue and clear. Then it struck him, there hadn't been ANY planes in the air for three days. That was 911. What you put out, is what you get back. If you put love out, you will get love back. If you put out negativity, you will get negativity back. For every action, there is a reaction whether it's good or bad. It's in our hands to do our best not to cause an adverse impact to our planet. Peace to ALL!

Looneyville is indeed named after the Looney family, so is Gandeeville. My father was from Roane Co. & graduated from Walton High School in the 40's. He told me tales of his school days, friends, boyish pranks, old cars and the fun they had at the 4-H camp. Spencer was a big place to them. Roane Co. gave us many war veterans and kept distant family & friends together with the annual "Roane County Reunion". I don't even know if they still have it, but we used to go. I remember seeing Sen. Robert Byrd play his fiddle there. The Black Walnut Festival in October(?) is a good time to visit Spencer. They usually have a parade, arts & crafts and a museum. You can enjoy a slice of Americana, along with a slice of homemade pie.

There is also a Lefthand Post Office on Rt.36, always wondered why there wasn't a Righthand also. Our County seat is located in Spencer, (middle of nowhere) which for years was only known for its State Mental Institution. (no Jane Doe this isn't my Alma mater) It was closed years ago and now a Wal-Mart is on that location. I guess the only other thing to speak of would be the Black Walnut Festival which is held in Spencer every October.

She formed herself from a dust cloud, they say and planted herself just the right distance from the sun to support the life she would create. She also filled her insides with molten heat to maintain the right temps and if that builds too much she decides to blow some out holes (volcanoes) to keep from exploding. She makes her own rain, knowing whether she needs a gentle soaking rain for her plants, or a gully washer to cleanse the filth. It pours down the mountains, into the rivers and out into the ocean which she just happened to fill with salt (her natural sanitizer). And she knows if she doesn't have ice she will over heat, but too much and she will freeze, killing her life she so carefully made. So she melts some, then as it heats up, she freezes more. All just coincidental happenings? She is brilliant! But not so smart as the humans who are making a fortune controlling the other dumb humans by convincing them THEY are causing her to do these things!!!

WV roads are awful and I know after all of these years, surely the toll money has added up to more than enough to fix these roads!!! What an awful awful idea!!

Well people I am here to tell you that this bunch at the so called CSPI and no you hippies I don’t mean the TV show calling us fat should look in the mirror they look like something off night of the living dead pasty faced scarecrows and beanpoles and what is so great about that. WV has some of the best staple foods anywhere in the world I have eaten paotatoes beans meat flour and corn meal all my life cooked in lard and I am not one bit worse off for it and can mine coal with anybody. People all the good foods we eat are natural growed in the garden or on the farm so it should even make a tofu eating hippie type happy. I am more bothered that two states beat us out in the race for the top so I tip my hat to the people of the great states of Alabama home of the best country music band ever and Mississippi but people of WV get busy we have to reclaim our title to best fed in the USA I recommend the Kentucky Fried Chicken with gravy and biscuits as a good place to start our comeback.

If one looks at organized religion with an open mind it isn't hard to see who is confused. For example, you have one bible yet there are numerous religious groups ( methodists, baptists etc...) that believe their interpretation is the only correct interpretation. This is understandable because the bible itself is very contradictive. In my opinion the the bible and organized religion is nothing more than a tool created to control the masses. Yet this tool has pitted man against man, brother against brother, state against state and country against country, not to mention the wars, death and destruction it has caused. I have witnessed in my lifetime many family fueds, broken marriages and busted churches at the hands of organized religion. I have heard the words of hate spoken by christians. I am not confused.

We all make mistakes every day,we get angry,we say things we shouldn't and act out our frustrations sometimes to those closest to us and our friends. We try to do better and ask forgiveness when we do stumble from our christian path. Actions speak louder than words at times, good or bad. Yes we adults act like children at times and children try to act like adults all too soon. We never know who we are influenceing with our actions and words so we need to always try to act,say and do what is right. As long as we are on this earth we will stumble but we should strive to be the best we can be and treat people with love and respect no matter how we are treated. I have turned the cheek many times and been slapped alot and will keep on doing it as long as I breath. My time will come soon enough to be judged as to the way I have lived and treated people.

Again thank each of you, and at last Fox news was the channel the fine people at our local (American made) dealership had channeled on the tube, personally I just watch WSAZ, at the local level.

You people that went up for the hearing last week should be thanked but the good people never got to say a word but these hippies did, they are apparently now running around the creek with microscopes looking for fish that cant be seen with the eye, something called a microbe, now they are blaming the coal miner for killing off this worthless animal and I sincerely hope Captain D or old Long John will never put some slop like that on my plate when I want good seafood. If you dont see it it cant be of no good use anyway, sort of like a certain US senator with a big rich name who was nowhere to be seen last week.

Have any of you people in Huntington ever lost a chicken to a wild dog. Even these back to nature types and hippies up here in Boone County tie up there dog to guard there dope patches but they don’t have no sense anyway if they aint going to Washington DC to try and rook us out of our jobs by carrying signs and yelling about some invisible fish that is no good to anybody they are screaming about the coal miner killing polar bears and other animals that don’t even live here. Apparently this bunch had the bright idea to go down to the park on Sunday down in Huntington when people was out with there families trying to walk around and enjoy things and they chained themselves to trees with real dog chains trying to get people to sign a protest petition to of all people a mayor named Wolf now I don’t know about you but that mayor better forget the beware of dog sign he needs to put a beware of the PETA nut sign up in that park.

However, I caution you on taking anything from FOX news at face value. This is an organization that in 2000 won a case in Florida appeals court in which the court ruled that FOX has no obligation to tell the truth to it's viewers, and can misinform the public under the first amendment. This is also an organization that has been proven to have an agenda, and frames every bit of it's coverage to favor one political party over the other. My advice is to seek out less obviously biased news sources, especially in cases such as global warming, which is an issue that transcends political parties and affects every being on the planet.

I love this area but am very discouraged by the lack of pride in our appearance in several of our towns, the prices of doing business, the attitude towards the customer , the lack of merchandise. I could go on. We definately are not tourist friendly in the great ohio valley area.

I was sitting in a local car dealership and FOX news was reporting on the government sitting or "burying" studies by two of the highest ranking EPA officials contradicting this myth. Some of the comments from their studies proves the Global temperature if anything has decreased. Although, you should be skeptical about anything the media reports especially when it involves the government these are facts that have been recorded over time. I ask how come when these bozos as Dr. Hansen whom is from NASA(which has done innumerable amounts of damage to our air with their testing) never mention facts as these when trying to prove things they are claiming is a fact. People we in America have became lazy in seeking the truth, I am not disputing anything these scientists and the government tells us, but as we learned in elementary school check facts of both sides.

Every time I drive through town on a nice day it never fails that someone is washing their personal vehicle at the VFD. Good to see that they budget personal car washes into the city budget. As of today, I still haven't had a response from them. There used to be a small fee for admission to anyone who just wanted to visit. Once inside the park, a visitor could buy a corn dog or pay to play a few games or ride a few rides. Now people have to pay a full admission price for all day rides, even when they don't plan to stay all day. A lot of people are grandparents who just want to watch their grandchildren ride for an hour or two. Some are young parents with small children who tire easily. As empty nesters, my husband and I would like to drop by to get a bite to eat, play some games or just walk around. Everyone I have spoken to said they would visit Camden Park a whole lot more if they didn't have to pay the full admission price. I challenge everyone to contact Camden Park and ask them to give the people a choice!

Me and my 6 year old daughter rode the Spider, We thought it was going to be lots of fun, we were wrong! It was a nightmare! It went on for 10 minutes and was going way too fast! My daughter was terrified and was screaming! I was furious when the man that helped us off asked if she was okay and I said what do you think and he laughed!! I have rode this ride for many years and loved it, But this time I could tell it was different! But then it gets worse, A friend of mine that stayed at the park longer than us informed me that after we left, The spider closed down and said they had crossed wires and the ride was malfunctioning!!! My daughter can't hardly walk today and has a four inch bruise down her back! I'm taking her to the doctor in the morning. If there is something seriously wrong, I will be speaking to the owner and this situation will be takin care of!!!!!
