18-Year-Old Killed in Gallia County Crash
GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- An 18-year-old woman died Friday in a rollover crash on County Road 57 (Fairview Road), according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol news release.
Bethany Hackney, 18, of Oak Hill, Ohio, was killed in the accident.
Hackney was a passenger in a Chevrolet Blazer driven by an 18-year-old woman. Charges are pending against the driver, according to the release. She only suffered minor injuries.
Two other passengers in the Blazer also had minor injuries. Only the driver was wearing a seat belt.
The Blazer was southbound on County Road 57 when it went off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned and came to rest on its top.
The crash was reported at 3:05 p.m. Friday, and the roadway was closed about four hours during the investigation.
