Bill, church on Tuesday? You are one dedicated conservative. Good luck in life. With your narrow mind you'll need it.

Has Obama ever had a job that did not involve getting people money from the goverment? he was a community activist type. Has he ever had to meet a payroll, produce results, or demonstrate leadership that did not invole getting the goverment involved in peoples lives? What bills has he authored, that have been passed? My personal belief is that he is a sleeper cell muslim. He calls his grandmother a "typical white woman". Does that sound like a person who is color blind? I must go, I am off to the gun shop and to church, since those are what I cling to.

WSAZ hasn't been biased. It just so happens that the Clintons have been in West Virginia for about two dozen visits in the past week or so. Barack Obama has made one visit! I think WSAZ was the only station to actually get an interview with Obama!

Mike, is on target. Thanks for sharing.

Posted by: S. on May 13, 2008 at 12:26 AM
Wow, WSAZ has been really biased toward Hillary, giving her more coverage and downplaying Obama. I'm disappointed but not surprised.

Sounds like Jim is taking his vote and going home. Go cry about it Jimbo.

To no trucker, unless you grow your own food, get eggs from your own hens, milk from your own cow, have a horse to ride to work and sew your own clothes, you had better be thankful for truckers. Without truckers everything stops. Some truckers are even college educated. Sounds like you are the bitter one. Maybe your mamma ran off with a trucker.

When Obama wins the United States will regain the respect it lost during the Bush years.

If race is the reason - and there are hundreds of anecdotal reports that it is - then it's not Obama's problem, it's West Virginia's problem, it's Kentucky problem and it's America's problem. Political leaders (Clinton included!) and the media need to combat the ignorance that breeds racism with correctional information. Entertaining destructive prejudices as possibly true is not fair and balanced, it is permitting the institutionalization of racism. Obama is in no way responsible for his being born to parents of certain ethnic backgrounds and being given a name many Americans irrationally hate. All he can do is offset the animosity his skin color and his name ignite with his own self-confidence and optimism, as he's been doing his whole life. Beyond that, it's up to the pundits, the political leaders, the community organizers, and the advertisers to treat this hatred with the same flat-out dismissal that we accord neo-Nazism and other repugnant manifestations of the human spirit.

I will not vote for Obama- ever! He will be the biggest mistake America can have. You want to see change, it will be for the worse!

Posted by: Jim on May 12, 2008 at 01:11 AM
If he wins im not voting at all

trucker man, truckers out of work doesn't affect my clothing. I already have it. trucks aren't that important in my life even though you seem to think it is. Also, free health care can work. Free education has, some call it public education which you apparently didn't have too much of to become a trucker. You sound bitter.

Posted by: Nadine on May 11, 2008 at 11:49 PM
Obama is the best candidate for the position, so keep on holding your guns, it won't stop him from winning. The rest of the USA isn't nearly as racist or paranoid as some of you are.

Posted by: let obama win whatever on May 11, 2008 at 09:08 PM
if obama wins i bet gas will go to 20.00 a gallon all the money for the us will go over seas.. free health care what a joke we will never see that vote for who you want but think about truckers when you vote with the rising fuel we will be forced to park the trucks this means for you no food clothes no nothing

Now that is a grand plan.It would probably take the Enquiror and the Globe out off the election and that would all but cancel the election in wva. from some of the post i have read and some of the things if seen and heard frompeople just amaze me i seen 2 women almost come to blow in big lots over a story in one of the two magazines about obama being a terroist just wondered how anyone could be that ignorant but then i see the same here and see so much said by people who must be totally out of touch with the issues and facts so yes a test would be great

Posted by: AVID OBAMA SUPPORTER on May 11, 2008 at 07:12 PM
I wished he were coming to Huntington, WVa instead of going back to Charleston, WVa. Huntington is important also, WVa Obama offices. You need to speak to him and his Public Relation Director and expounded on the importance of Huntington. Senator Obama has been to Charleston and Beckley all ready.

To all of you ignorant and racist people that have to make negative remarks, I ask that the Good Lord will soften your hearts and open your blinded eyes that you will be able to see and hear the truth. Now go on to Billary's comment page and say something nice, since you can't say it here!!

Posted by: Bruce on May 11, 2008 at 12:35 PM
I think people should have to take an exam in order to vote.I would like people to prove they understand how our government functions. You must take a test to become a U.S. citizen. You must take a test to get a drivers license. Why not take a test to vote.Prove to me that you understand the issues.ISSUES..ISSUES..ISSUES!I know people who don't watch the news, don't read the paper, don't read internet news, don't listen to talk radio and think they have the right to make a decision based on who they would like to hang out with.My children deserve better! If you don't want to educate yourself, then don't vote!

Posted by: Joellyn on May 11, 2008 at 11:51 AM
God Bless you, West Virginians! You aren't letting anyone tell you that you don't have the intelligence to see the truth. So far the posts here are 2-1 for Obama, our next President of the United States! West Virginia for Obama!

Posted by: aj in ky on May 11, 2008 at 10:30 AM
I really do hope that all you us make informed votes. Look at the issues. Too many of us feign ignorance and vote based on one issue. This may have been less than eloquently stated by Mr. Obama but is is true. One issue often drives the vote.I am not voting for a gender or race I am voting for a vision and idea for the future. I think Barack Obama is more in touch that either of the other candidates. Maybe John McCain can fly in on his wife's personal jet to talk to us, or maybe Hillary learned about the working poor while she was "summering" in PA as a child. I dont think these people that have been so involved in the "washington Machine" can understand our situations. They have been out of touch too long. Michelle Obama's mother still lives on the south side of chicago- a working class neighboorhood. Which candidate do you think has been exposed to "working class" lately? Hillary cant get her own coffee, and maybe McCain is meeting working class people as he gets off his jet!

Posted by: MIKE on May 11, 2008 at 09:45 AM
If you are stupid enough to pay to see this guy. have at it. He is saying I want to be president. I need your Vote. But to see me you have to have the money to pay for it. If you can not afford to pay dont come. Just give me your vote anyway, Thats not someone i want as a President. My opinion if you vote for this guy you are sadly mistaken.

Posted by: Jim on May 11, 2008 at 09:39 AM
Obama for change in the lies and lobbyist controlled politicians we call servants. Hillary against the NAFTA-fast-track treaty to allow South America the same deal as Mexico, but unknown??to her Bill Clinton is a paid $200,000.a year registered lobbyist for passing it.Oh sure, and I really believe the ducking snippers bullets to.No more liars to be President,we already have one and look where we are now.

if obama wins the nomination, i'm voting republican in the fall. plain and simple.

I can see alot of these individuals posting comments are not worried about the capital gains tax increase that Obama plans for the future. God Save the USA

Posted by: Mike on May 11, 2008 at 08:33 AM
This election is a microcosm of the issues this state faces. People bring up issues of Obama placing all black leaders in the cabinet positions, and then ask what about that is racism. They say his middle name is Hussein, and wonder how we can elect someone who is not American. They say he is not a Christian, but then take shots at him for his Christian preacher. They call him an elitist, when he is the candidate who grew up on food stamps. Until this state, a state I love, can overcome the ignorance of their religion, the ignorance of their fathers, and the overall inability to think for themselves, this state will continue to be last at everything, except being the number one laughingstock of this country. People who disagree with you are not stupid. That is what you say when you are two. So please stop name calling and posting nonfactual information. If you want to have an honest discussion, try doing so with some research of you own, not Clinton or Fox News talking points.

Does this mean he is not coming to HHS? Did you jump the gun? Will you admit a mistake and say you should go on the air with a lie?

Posted by: Allen on May 11, 2008 at 01:11 AM
A Democrat will be the next President. The 2006 Elections for our Senators was all about Iraq.We are still there and McCain wants more of the same.So McCain loses.Barack will be the nominee for the democrats. He has the lead and will end up with the lead. It's just plain math.Add all this up and Obama is President.I can't understand why people complain about our government and keep voting the same people in office.Barack represents change.Give it a chance.

Posted by: dS on May 11, 2008 at 12:26 AM
Welcome future President Obama!! McCain (McBush) is a joke and Hillary should stick to being a senator (although past decisions have shown she may want to quit that job too). neither of them are electable and they have no integrity. period.

I agree with Jeff and Phil on most of what u said it is nice 2C I am not alone n my GREAT concern of our nation and 2 Obama i will say this; America was founded by people who "cling 2 their guns and religion" u would do well 2 remember that without us (the "clingy guncarrying God fearing people you wouldnt exist we also cling 2 other ideals such as FREEDOM,PATRIOTISM,AND A LITTLE THING CALLED THE CONSTITUTION! we bitter, poor people r the backbone of this nation I hope you get 2 read this Obama I have little doubt that u or your election team wont get a reality check . However in aspect to John McCain i wont vote 4u either u seem 2b a G.W. clone Hillary is a woman and I'm not shoganist ok but how will all of these other countries view us espescially d mid east ones so what do we do? vote Clinton she is d less of all evils her hubands expertise is also a very valuable asset he had our country n fair shape and now look at us the sad part is itll prob come down2 Obama or McCain

Posts like these sure sound bitter to me. You all may want to educate yourselves on the background of the name Hussein; better yet educate yourselves period. When he becomes President, he might just help you guys come up with college money, and you won't even have to pawn your gun collection. You could also consider taking some time out of your pickup-truck-recreation-filled day and read about his background on his website...if you are literate enough to understand words with more than one syllable. By the way, Obama sure was "uppity" when he was on foodstamps.

Posted by: margretta lee on May 10, 2008 at 11:24 PM
I'm not ready for a woman president, even tho I am a woman. Plus Mr. Clinton is doing all the work, as if she doesn't know her job.

Posted by: Mary on May 10, 2008 at 11:12 PM
God help us if this man is elected. A vote for Obama is a vote for the enemy.

Posted by: David on May 10, 2008 at 11:08 PM
Phil--I think you missed the "news" of Barack's pastor--HE'S CHRISTIAN, SO USING HIS MIDDLE NAME WON'T WORK THE FEAR ANYMORE.

In January 1995, as the Clintons were licking their wounds from the 1994 congressional elections, a debate emerged at a retreat at Camp David. Should the administration make overtures to working class white southerners who had all but forsaken the Democratic Party? The then-first lady took a less than inclusive approach. "Screw 'em," she told her husband. "You don't owe them a thing, Bill. They're doing nothing for you; you don't have to do anything for them."http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/16/hillary-clinton-on-workin_n_97017.html She's a doll, isn't she!

It is so sad that West Virginia is falling into the politics as usual during such a critical time in our nations history. It doesn't matter who wins the nomination what matters is that so many are so close minded and willing to sacrifice our country even further over stupid issues. Voting against Obama because of a name or the color of his skin. Voting for Hillary because she is a woman. We need to be so much smarter then this and as usual we fall into the political trap. How many of you have even visted either canidates web site to see the plans they have set forth? Base your vote on information your research has provided you, not on the lies the media puts out there. WV and its people have enough trouble and your willing to give 4 more years to the Republicans? That shows how concerned you are about our country, our troops and those trying to provide food to their familes and paying for gas just to get to work. Guess we are the stupid white people Clinton is looking for.

Welcome President Obama!

Posted by: Jean on May 10, 2008 at 10:15 PM
Go Obama! Can't wait to see our next president, who is a Christian and he does care about the poor. Also he has a brain unlike Bush who is a moron! We need him to unite our country and clean up after the Republican mess that has been made in our country and in other countries.

Posted by: Kendra on May 10, 2008 at 10:15 PM
Go Obama!!! Home to see you come to Eastern Kentucky!!! U are just what our country needs!!

Posted by: jennifer on May 10, 2008 at 10:13 PM
I'll support you all the way to the white house Obama! You have my vote! I wish I could attend his event but I have finals that day. I'll have another chance when he campaigns in the fall for the general election! I can't wait! He's an extremely intelligent man and makes total sense! Universal healthcare, bringing our troops home, and he keeps his cool when issues arise. That's what we need as president.

Posted by: Joellyn on May 10, 2008 at 09:38 PM
Ignore those other posters who won't take the time, or make the effort to learn about who you are, or who believe the lies of those charletans on the Fake News Network who want to discredit you. If only they could understand that you are working for them, to make their lives better, and to give our country back it's good name in the world. You are the best hope for West Virginia, and Kentucky and for us all. They will know that one day soon, and then they'll eat their words. God Bless You, Barack Obama--YES WE CAN!!!
