Dozens of protesters welcomed Senator McCain to St. Albans with signs protesting the war in Iraq. Several members of the Patriots for Peace were also outside the archery, many holding "Out of Iraq" signs.
When McCain got off the bus, he stopped and talked with several people. He also signed autographs for a short time before heading into the archery.
McCain was at the archery for about a half hour. Inside the store, he spoke with several customers and even shopped with a few of them.
The Senator was only at the archery for about an hour before heading back to Yeager Airport in Charleston.

A campaign spokesperson tells WSAZ.com that Senator McCain will be at the St. Albans Gun and Archery in about ten minutes.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Republican presidential hopeful John McCain is scheduled to be in Kanawha Valley Friday morning for two private events.
McCain will be at the St. Albans Gun & Archery store in St. Albans.
The Arizona Senator is then expected to attend a private meeting in Charleston. This meeting is closed to the public.
This marks McCain’s first appearance in West Virginia since he launched his White House bid.
He did not attend the West Virginia Republican Party's February convention for presidential candidates.
McCain last toured the state to stump for Republican presidential candidates in 2006.
Late Friday afternoon, he's expected to travel to Kentucky to speak to the National Rifle Association.
