Update: 12:20pm Friday
Dozens of protesters welcomed Senator McCain to St. Albans with signs protesting the war in Iraq. Several members of the Patriots for Peace were also outside the archery, many holding "Out of Iraq" signs.

When McCain got off the bus, he stopped and talked with several people. He also signed autographs for a short time before heading into the archery.

McCain was at the archery for about a half hour. Inside the store, he spoke with several customers and even shopped with a few of them.

The Senator was only at the archery for about an hour before heading back to Yeager Airport in Charleston.

ORIGINAL STORY
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Republican presidential hopeful John McCain is scheduled to be in Kanawha Valley Friday morning for two private events.

McCain will be at the St. Albans Gun & Archery store in St. Albans.

The Arizona Senator is then expected to attend a private meeting in Charleston. This meeting is closed to the public.

This marks McCain’s first appearance in West Virginia since he launched his White House bid.

He did not attend the West Virginia Republican Party's February convention for presidential candidates.

McCain last toured the state to stump for Republican presidential candidates in 2006.

Late Friday afternoon, he's expected to travel to Kentucky to speak to the National Rifle Association.

What a classy comment that was. I've heard 2 year olds with better come back lines. LOL.

To no name that says we have no class, since all of your family members are McCain supporters, which one of them dropped you on your head? Maybe you are adopted.

Get over yourself. You don't have as much class as you'd like to think you do. And as far as McCain supporters having more class... HA! So I guess all the slandering and derogatory comments made on other articles by McCain voters is classy. My whole family are McCain supporters and I do not find their emails that are sent to me classy at all.

I was disappointed that I was out of the state when he came to my hometown. McCain will be the next President of the United States! He's the best of the three. It angers me that demonstrators came to harass him on his visit. Did anyone demonstrate against the Clintons or Obama while they were here? No, because McCain supporters have more class.

Wow. What a low blow there Doug. How about this... McCain is tied to dictators such as Philipines President Ferdinand Marcos, Zaire dictator Mobuto Sese Seko, Somalia's Mohamed Siad Barre and Nigeria's Ibrahim Babangida, as well as foreign oil interests like the Chinese government's CNOOC.

There should be no doubt about this one. While McCain was fighting for our country Obama was attending a racist cult filled church cursing it !. McCain is a supporter of freedom and Americans right to own a gun while Obama's supporters are mostly outlaws and live by criminal activity. The truth will stand and still be ture when this country is in flames. No American or supporter of freedom would even think of voting for Barack Hussein, especially with the type of suupport he has..

MCcain is our nest president. He does have his faults. But not nearly as many as Clinton and Obama. At least he tells the truth. Anf does not go to a Racist Church.
