HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The race for Huntington's Mayor is set for November, but in the nail-biter primary race for the democratic nominee, we now know how David Felinton edged out Bob Bailey.

Felinton beat Bailey by just 182 votes. Felinton ended the night with 3,195 votes, which was 41% of the votes. Bailey had 3,013 votes, which was 38% of the votes.

Out of the 36 precincts in Huntington, Felinton was 21 and Bailey won 15.

When it came to the strongest precincts, Bailey was strong in the Central City area with 62% of the vote. But the road to victory for Felinton went through the Fairfield West community. He brought in 72% of the votes at the Marie Redd Center precinct.

Bob Bailey is in his position because of his daddy. At least our current mayor had to at least work towards a political future!! Its rumored that mr Bailey had spent 9,000 on a victory party. Its like the arogance that he thought that he would actually win.

You guys who think Wolfe will do better are in for one rude awakening! Too bad we don't have another option.

Bob Bailey would probaly take up the blacktop and have us drive on the wornout brick.

"The race for Huntington's Mayor is set for December" ?? I thought the General Election was being held in November? Of course, supporters of Kim Wolfe wouldn't mind one bit if David Felinton's supporters waited until December to go the polls.

He can not pave streets, fight all of the crime, pay city employees, and work all of the other miracles on the pathetic budget Huntington has. NO one is willing to pay a little more for better services either. Felinton does what he can.

Even a yellow dog democrat like me will be forced to vote republican come November. Why would anyone vote for this guy - take a look at the ______ he has done for Huntington

Felinton has done more in two terms than bob bailey his entire career in politics. Bailey is part of the old rule that did nothing to vitalize this city. The old rule would simply rotate job positions to keep a check coming in. Superblock was there for more than 20 years and nothing was done with it, until felinton. At least he his trying to pump some energy into this city, nobody else did before him.

The streets can't be paved until someone has the guts to raise the taxes and fees. Doesn't matter if God himself was mayor, not money equals no work.

Well our streets will never get paved. Hope all is happy
