HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two people walked into the Highway Inn bar Saturday night and robbed one of the customers.

Police Chief Skip Holbrook says the two suspects hit Jason Jackson in the face before taking money from the bar. Both suspects had guns.

Jackson confirms to WSAZ.com the suspects took his cell phone, but the money came from the bar. Police say it was $1,200.

Chief Holbrook says the duo then corralled three other people in the bar into a back room. The couple then left the bar.

Police say Jackson was not seriously injured and refused medical treatment at the scene. Police are still looking for the two suspects. There is no description available right now of what they look like or how they got away.

The Highway Inn Bar is in the 4800 block of Piedmont Road in Westmoreland.

Suspect were caught in a dui patrol out near Rt 75. Kenova Does NOT patrol that area nor have they pulled you over near there. That would have been Ceredo Police NOT Kenova

check with 911,cad system indicates first officer arrived on scene 9 mins after call was received, and not to mention this was not the only problem going on in the city, several officers ran code to the scene after call given out, they do the best they can, now on with the complainants.

I live on Barger Hill and I have no problem harrassing these pieces of crap. We ran one bunch off and we'll do it again.

Jason glad you doing ok. As for the HPD it's time to fire all the Supervisors and get someone willing to do the job.. I'm sick and tired of hearing were short stafed.. cryyyyy we need more officers. You Little boys couldn't hack it in a real job. Excuses, Excuses,Excuses.. Poor girl lays in her apparment for a week and your sorry officer couldnt find her ..What a Joke of a Police dept..

I'm glad you're ok Jason. I know that inside you are scarred though. I can't believe it took the police that long to get there. What about Kenova police? They patrol that far down because they pull me over down there all the time.

Jason: Don't know you but glad you're OK buddy and I'm glad it wasn't YOUR money.

How many times do I need to tell you people to fix this. This defamation plese tell the real story

Posted by: Beth on May 19, 2008 at 02:15 PM
Jason- We all feel your pain about slow arriving cops in Huntington. My friend works at Cabell Huntington Hospital, her car was stolen off the lot three weeks ago. It took them {The HPD} three and half hours to arrive. We suspect, the car bandits were half way to Detriot by the time the police arrived. Her car is still missing in action.

I think these people were caught in wayne co. a few hours after the robbery.

Posted by: me on May 19, 2008 at 11:32 AM
Please correct this story.

Posted by: Tim on May 19, 2008 at 11:22 AM
Jason, don't know you pal, but your right on it. Going to get worse. Just certainly glad your okay pal. Hang in there and I hope the HPD Dets get with you soon to help catch these folks.

Posted by: Bryan on May 19, 2008 at 11:02 AM
20 minutes? Good thing you weren't shot Jason. I honestly believe that if we don't start taking our town back, Kenova will be no different than Huntington. The rat B?????DS have thier roots buried deep on Barger Hill along with several different locations in town. Harrass the H???L out of them until they leave or it's going to get bad. I lived in Killeen, TX for a while and I'm telling you, what is coming you won't want your kids growing up around.

It doesn't matter who was robbed the thing is ther are a couple want-a-be thugs out there acting like bonnie and clyde who need put in prison! It sounds about right though H.P.D showing up after 20 min.

im glad your OK Bean !

Posted by: Jason Jackson on May 18, 2008 at 10:42 PM
I was not robbed, I was hit in the face with a gun. The bar was robbed of 1200 dollars not me. Im fine, for those of you who care. I have contacted wsaz and HPD to correct this and nothing has been done. I would also like to add that it took 20 minutes for HPD to arrive and that have contacted the DET. office and the Cheifs office and no one will return my calls. This is oly going to get worse the economy is going to h-ll start protecting yourselves. Im for real this drug thing is an epedemic and the people hooked on this stuff have no boundries. When a few f them get SHOT they willstart thinking twice before robbing anyone. I still want to talk to a Det.

Posted by: Bev on May 18, 2008 at 09:20 PM
It doesn't matter that there was a error in the printing or even the amount of money this guy had. The point is that he was robbed of it. He is a victim who was terrorized by these people. God bless him.

Posted by: WOODY on May 18, 2008 at 08:58 PM
FOR YOUR INFO. JACKSON DID NOT HAVE MONEY. THE BAR WAS ROBBED OF $1200.00, NOT JACKSON. HE WAS HIT BECAUSE HE WAS TALKING ON HIS CELL PHONE.

Posted by: Waznt Me! on May 18, 2008 at 08:19 PM
Im shocked Im not hearing anyone saying "Im not surprised", or, "Gee, wonder if it was drug related?" Oh, ok, it happened in the West end. Hello!!!! Drug issues are there too!!!

This comment goes out to all those perfect people out there that are only posting comments about a simple little mistake that the news staff made. You all act like you have never made a mistake and do no wrong. You need to get a life. Give these news stations and the staff a break. They work really hard at what they do, do you?

Posted by: Pablo on May 18, 2008 at 04:55 PM
I agree with "V." Who carries that kind of cash and why was only one patron robbed? A patron with a lot of cash. Something smells about this whole story.

Posted by: sambo on May 18, 2008 at 04:32 PM
If they had all been home studying their Sunday School lesson this never would have happened.

Posted by: V on May 18, 2008 at 03:15 PM
who carries 1200.00 cash ???

Posted by: NEWS WATCHER on May 18, 2008 at 03:06 PM
im glad to see that the news report was changed to show that Highway Inn is a bar... considering it read it was hotel for 24 hours.

Posted by: Lou on May 18, 2008 at 01:35 PM
This is a bar not a hotel

Posted by: confused? on May 18, 2008 at 11:47 AM
isnt the highway inn a bar in the west end of town

Posted by: Mike on May 18, 2008 at 09:56 AM
I believe the Highway In is a bar on Piedmont Road close to the RB2 that was robbed Saturday morning.

Posted by: annoymous on May 18, 2008 at 09:51 AM
Isn't the Highway Inn a bar on Piedmont Road? I've never heard of a hotel in Huntington called "Highway Inn."

Posted by: Jan on May 18, 2008 at 06:04 AM
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the Highway Inn is just a bar, not a hotel. It's an ok place, I'm sorry this happened to them.

Posted by: Anonymous on May 18, 2008 at 03:40 AM
Probably the scooter bandit!
