HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ)--The man charged with murder in connection with a fatal fire in Huntington was in court today.
Police say the Bradley Watson set the fire at 2688 Collis Avenue earlier this month.
.
61-year old Deanna O’Brian died in the fire.
O’Brian lived in an upstairs apartment in the house and was unable to escape the fire.
At the time of his arrest, police say Watson told his ex-girlfriend that he set the fire, but denied any involvement when questioned.
The Fire Marshal says Watson’s story, and what investigators have found are too similar.
Watson’s preliminary hearing scheduled for this morning was postponed shortly before court began.
According to court documents, the prosecution and Watson’s attorney agreed to the postponement due to some “new developments” in the investigation.
The hearing is now set for June 4.

ok i know he didnt do it i was hanging out with him and his sister all that day and i know he didnt because he dont have the heart to do some thing like that he is my best friend and i have been around long enough to know him and he would never ever do something like this im soooo sorry for the familys loss but brad didnt do it and if he goes down for what some one else did then thats taking him away from his 2 baby girls and his family and his babies dont need to lose their daddy over some thing he did NOT do i miss my best friend we love u brad
Have you ever had a ex who wanted to get back at you... Who's to say she did not do this herself, or another friend of hers did and that it is how the details came out.... We DON'T know who or why do this... And no you don't know what someone will do anymore I agree but in this CASE we as the people have not seen or heard enough info to say that Mr. Watson did do this? So why is this a case to bring back the death pen. that would just be flat out murder... This case has not shown to me that He has done the crime and it does not show that he intended to kill some one if he did do it... Some people should think this a little deaper until all of the evadence is released then we can make a clearer judgement... Still that poor family lost a member do to this so why don't we all just take a deep breath and take a moment to pray that they remember all of the good things about DeAnna O'Brian and not this tragady be the last and only thoughts on their minds...
