Youth Baseball Sucker Punch Caught on Tape

SEATTLE, Wash. (NBC) -- Washington state police are investigating a vicious sucker-punch caught on tape after a youth baseball game.
The incident occurred following a tournament game in Snohomish County over the weekend.
As the teams were shaking hands after the game one player pulls back and strikes another in the face.
The player who was hit and his family don't want to be identified, but said he was given stitches at a nearby hospital after the incident.

That was not a vicious punch he was provoked and was standing up for himself i commend him for his bravery. The other kid is a weakling.

I've known this boy for most of his life and he is an extremely talented ball player and has not a mean bone in his body. I commend him for not retaliating and those of you who think otherwise should be ashamed of yourselves. In this day and age I do hope the child who threw this punch is punished severely for his conduct and hopefully be banned from all future sports in his high school career, perhaps that will teach him and all others that violence doesn't solve anything. While officials are at it perhaps his parents should be put through some CPS observation to determine if he has been taught this behavior in anyway. It is obvious that this child has some severe issues that need to be tended to otherwise his parents would not think it acceptable; it is appauling to think that they even find a way to acknowledge it in any way. BTW this was not little league for those of you who dont understand- this was a tournament played by select teams who pay $500 to register.

Ohioan, you got it right. People don't teach their kids anything these days. Respect, discipline and manners seem like a thing of the past. Only a few strive to instill goodness in their children, the rest are left to fend for themselves and however they can make it. I'm sure the little boy that did the punching was punished and if the boy that got punched did something vindictive to the other boy, I'm sure he'll think about what he's doing next time before something like that can happen again. Parents should not be proud of a bully. If parents don't teach their kids any better they'll never know. If you're raised the wrong way, you'll most likely end up doing the wrong thing, over and over again. I hope proud papa stops to think about the next time his kid bullies some other kid and instead of giving him a pat on the back, give him a swift kick in the rear.
