CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- As gas prices continue to climb this summer, the folks at West Virginia Citizen Action Group are offering one solution.

Calling for a separation of oil and state, Thursday group members demonstrated outside the Kroger gas station in Kanawha City. They wanted to call attention to the relationship between the Bush administration's foreign policy and the rising price of oil.

"I think really people are smarter than the politicians let on. I think people really know that the unrest in the mideast is really causing a large part of the gas problem in this country," Gary Zuckett of Citizen Action Group said.

Leaders of Citizen Action Group point to a recent study that tracks how gas prices have risen dramatically since the start of the war.

Maybe it's time to send the so called power hungery only elected officals packing do some serious late spring cleaning. They make good speaches to get elected, and then get into office, and it's all about them status.

I see that WSAZ didn't have the backbone to post my comment about this issue! How the Bush family and Rockreller Family have all their money tied up in oil stock! Also, how the Oil Company lobbyist are making them rich.

Fun how the price didnt really start to change until the Dems took control of Congress( doubled in 2 years )

The government should investigate the gas companies. I know for a fact that when Speedway sells its premium gas, it comes out of the exact same tank as the plus. They are getting away with selling a higher priced product that isn't what it says it is. Shouldn't that tell us something?

hey at least these people are trying to do something about these crazy gas prices. i hope the bottom falls out of oil & i wish that it would happen very soon.our leaders have done a very poor job for this country.

it doesn't matter what goes on in the middle east because it has never been at rest so to speak if we aren't there they will fight amongst themselves! There will never ever be peace in the middle east.As far as oil goes we need to start drilling for our own oil either here or just take over the whole middle east and keep all the oil for the good ole USofA.the people over there don't care about life, they prefer death, so i say lets go ahead and give them their virgins in their so called heaven and wipe them off the face of the earth!

Interesting concept: A war for oil that leaves the world with less oil. Yeah, you guys have the answer alright. For those of you from Boone and Wayne, it's called sarcasm.

Hey Thelma Lou,just a quick question, who is Gary? If this war is on terror from 9/11 then why didn't he focus more attention on Bin Laden than Suddam. Bin Laden is not in Iraq. It is my belief that he's back and forth between Afghanistan and Pakistan. I don't think James is to far off base. Get the documentary Farenheit 9/11. I'm sure you'll love it.

Hey Thelema Lou... How's that Kool-Aid taste??

Hey Gary just a reminder the war is on evil people that harmed us (9/11) I wanted to inform you of this happening because you have been living under a rock for quite awhile if you think this war is for oil!!

Its a cryin shame that our so called great leaders of this country our letting the oil companies destroy the country's economy. I think that big oil companies and the politicians that support them ( Bush, Chaney, McCain) should be held for treason against the United States. God please save our country
