ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- For the upcoming Republican and Democratic national conventions, the only mystery is who will be tapped as vice presidential candidates.
The real questions are how the two campaigns will work to turn red states blue and vice versa.
And who better to ask these questions, but a state leader?
We caught up with Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear in Ashland this week to celebrate the state's new pension reforms. We asked the Democratic superdelegate about any personal reforms in his presidential campaign support.
"People here don't know him," Governor Steve Beshear said of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. "We will get him here early and often."
Besheard said Hillary Clinton would be a great addition to the ticket as vice-president.
We also asked Beshear about the upcoming race for the United States Senate seat currently held by Republican minority leader Mitch McConnell. Former gubernatorial candidate Bruce Lunsford is the Democratic nominee.
"I will strongly support Bruce Lunsford," Beshear said. "We need new life in Washington. The people there have made a mess of things."
