If a meth lab was discovered in your neighborhood, would your fire department know what steps to take?

Thursday night, the volunteer fire departments of Oak Grove, Barlow, Wesley, Belpre and Dunham received special training on the risks of a meth lab.

Firefighters and EMTs were in attendance.

The Parkersburg Narcotics task force taught the class including how to recognize a meth lab, what to do, and what not to do.

Given the explosive nature of the chemical involved, this training could be the difference between life and death for the firefighters and those around the lab.
