UPDATE @ 4:07pm
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection says that inspectors looking into blue haze reports have identified a suspicious cloud over western Kanawha County.
Kathy Cosco, the spokesperson for the DEP, tells WSAZ.com that inspectors are currently out in western Kanawha County trying to figure out what the cloud is and from where it's coming. She said they're also looking to see which direction the cloud is moving.
Crews went up in a helicopter again to get a better view of the haze, according to Cosco.
Cosco says the DEP is taking reports of the blue cloud very seriously, and says Friday's sighting is a "cause for concern" since this is not the first time the agency has seen a similar cloud.
The DEP wants to make sure this is not chronic, says Cosco, who added that the cloud reports on June 28th were not seen by DEP inspectors. She says if there was one on the 28th, it dissipated before inspectors began looking for it.
The DEP did see and confirm a cloud in the January 25th incident.
Right now, Cosco said there are no recommendations for people who come into contact with the cloud.

ORGINAL STORY @ 2:34pm
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Metro 911 says it has received several reports of a blue haze in western Kanawha County Friday.
Dispatchers issued an alert to the media at 1:57pm advising that multiple calls have come in to 911.
Metro tells WSAZ.com that it has only received 6 calls so far -- and all are from the Nitro, St. Albans, and Jefferson area.
Right now, emergency crews from Nitro and St. Albans Police and Fire are out trying to find the source of the apparent haze, but Metro says nothing has been found yet.
Blue haze was also reported in Kanawha County on June 26.
The first incident of a blue haze happened January 25, 2008. DEP officials say pollution from the John Amos Plant caused the haze.

how quickly you all forget or possibly you never heard about it. Remember about 7 years ago in the summer of 2001 in Cheshire, Ohio and Gavin Plant? That blue haze touched down the entire summer in that town choking out the residents. It might be sulfuric acid aerosol mist or at least it was in Cheshire, Ohio.
There is nothing to worry about, just don't be smoking at your local bar.
We lived in Nitro for 5 years, and for that 5 years my daughter was sick. Her asthma was contantly acting up and she had nose bleeds atleast once a week. We moved from Nitro last year, and my daughter has had no health issues since. I am convienced that the pollution in Nitro was to blame for all of it.
