ATHENS, Ohio (WSAZ)-An Ohio University student has admitted to voting twice in the March Primary.
21-year old Carolyn Kleinhert pleaded guilty to felony election falsification in Athens County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday.
Prosecutors say the Hudson, Ohio native got an issues only absentee ballot from her home county of Summit County and sent it in.
Then, on election day, investigators say she got a provisional ballot from Athens County to vote in the Democratic primary and told elections officials she never got the absentee ballot from Summit County.
Kleinhert was sentenced to participate in the Prosecutor's Diversion Program.
She had faced the possibility of 6 to 12 months behind bars.

The RNC is currently using this as a smear / fear campaign to try and prove "voter fraud". http://www.gop.com/Ohio.htm This is just another example of immature, but effective “scare tactics” that the GOP has used very effectively in the 2004 election, and is now trying to use in the 2008 elections. This is ridiculous, but so is the charge. The election laws for college students are very confusing, many people are told that they can get a provisional / absentee ballot from their home, but are also told from their school that they can vote from where they live. I personally can see how a student could be legitimately confused by these instructions. I don't know what all the fuss / fallout is about. I also think it is ridiculous that this 21 year old girl now has a felony. No one will hire her, she will not be able to have a job, her life is over because of this. For me this is horribly disturbing, it should be for the rest of you.
This is the stupid thing I have read today. A man shot and killed a friend I worked with during a botched robbery last Feb. and I walk into one of my classes when the next semester started and there he sat. Why can he be free to do what he wants but they want to charge this girl for such a ridiculous crime. She must have voted for Hillary otherwise it wouldn't have been a problem!!!
