CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department says a fourth case of Legionnaires' disease has been reported in the county, but adds that it is not cause for panic.

The person affected is 61 years old and from the western part of Kanawha County.

Health department officials say there is no one link in sources of the disease in any of the cases, but all of the people affected do have things in common:
- they are all older than 40
- all are smokers
- all are from Kanawha County

People get Legionnaires' disease when they inhale a bacteria commonly found in water sources.

It's older people who probably used well water when they were youths and the smoking caused a weakened immune system.... I'm not a doctor.. or scientist... but maybe that's a good question to ask...DUH

- all are smokers They had to throw that in there, doesn't have a thing to do with it, as stated "when they inhale a bacteria commonly found in water sources", you don't smoke water.

Four cases but no cause for alarm. So when should the public be alarmed?
