HUNTINGTON, W.Va., (WSAZ) -- It's hard to believe that when they were born, the wired telephone was just starting to catch on.

But Saturday, 103-year-old Mary Shepard-Mann joined her baby brother's 100th birthday party using today's latest technology: a webcam.

"It's just actually unbelievable that such a thing could happen," said Mary.

Saturday was Joe McVay's birthday. He's from Huntington, but now lives in South Carolina.

"He usually wears a cap to cover his bald head and I called to tell him, 'please, I want to see the bald head!'" said Mary. "He reluctantly left his cap off."

Joe and Mary are both retired, but worked in Huntington. Mary was a piano teacher and Joe was an attorney.

How cool this is! I'm so excited for the two of them. They deserve everything in the world. And she really doesn't look 103. That's wonderful. I hope they get together in person soon so spend some time together.

The cool thing for me was that she went from a time before TV and radios existed to today where she is talking on a webcam on her own computer at 103!
