HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The storm that blew through some areas Tuesday night left some people in the dark.
The 911 center in Mingo County says about half of downtown Williamson is without power. Firefighters and emergency crews ran out on at least two calls of large trees falling on houses.
There are no reports of injuries Tuesday night in Mingo.
It’s the same story in Logan. Dispatchers are dealing with countywide outages and trees on houses, but there have been no reports of injuries.
There’s no word yet on when everyone will have power restored.

AEPs aging infrastructure needs adjusted. They fail to keep right of ways cleared and they also fail to keep the current grid up to date. All of this while charging customers some of the most outrageous rates due to several requested increases. I would recommend that those regulating this industry propose a minimum set of standards in which they need to provide service. Several outages this year have cost me hundreds of dollars in food. I for one have looked into investing into a whole home generator to alleve some of this cost as it is only a fraction of what food I will loose if this trend continues.
