HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Firefighters have contained a house fire in Huntington.

The fire, which happened in the 900-block of 22nd Street, was reported shortly after 11am.

Neighbors say the house was engulfed in flames within a matter of minutes.

We're told a mother and daughter lived in the house.

Firefighters tell us the daughter was hurt, and taken to the hospital after she tried to go back inside the burning house to save two dogs.

They say she suffered from smoke inhalation and minor burns, but no word yet on her condition.

The good news is that both dogs came out of the house okay.

The house is believed to be a total loss. A neighboring house had some minor fire damage.
