CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Two men's hunt for a big buck ended with them facing charges of illegally killing a deer and leaving its decapitated body in a field.
The state Division of Natural Resources says Heath Foster and Terry Pumphery were charged following an investigation prompted by reports of gunfire near a Rock Cave residence.
DNR Conservation Capt. Mike Pizzino says the two 32-year-old men face multiple charges stemming from the animal's slaying.
Pizzino says the investigation shows the large buck had been spotlighted and then shot. Investigators later recovered the animal's head.
The shooting occurred earlier this month. West Virginia's guns hunting season for bucks doesn't start until Nov. 24.

To Posted by:laney,I disagree with you about most people are speeding or not watching when they hit a deer. Deer leap very fast, when frightened anywhere, even on and in front of cars and trucks un-expected! It is their nature when they hear certain sounds!
Don't be cruel: Why so many question marks? By the way, get in the kitchen and get them pots a rattling. Its supper time and I'm hungry. I hate your hair and don't use so much salt this time. Get me a beer before you get started and put that little short dress on you used to wear if it still fits you.
How terrible. I love to watch the deer prance and frollick around from my deck. And to Spank, you said you wouldn't be seeing Hank anymore. I hope he is talking about several months back. Otherwise it's over. May the deer rest in pieces...
