UPDATE: Monday @ 4:56pm
Charleston Police have named a suspect in the beating death of a woman on the city's west side Friday.

Detectives say Latrice Carlyne Hunter, 24, of Michigan, struck 26-year-old April Myers with what appears to be an eight inch I-bolt. Many witnesses say it looked like a flashlight.
Police say Myers went after Hunter and then collapsed in the street, where a deputy passing by spotted her and called for an ambulance. Myers was taken to the hospital where she later died.
According to a news release, Hunter then got into a car with some of the people police previously named as possible witnesses---and took off to Michigan.
Hunter is facing first degree murder charges when she's caught. Police in both Michigan and West Virginia are looking for her.
If you have any information about her, call the Charleston Police at (304) 348-6480.

They are all from the Detriot area. Police say they are not suspected of killing 20-year-old April Myers with a flashlight, but they might have information that could help solve her murder.
If you have any information about the attack or where these men may be, call the Charleston detectives at (304) 348-6480.
UPDATE @ 6 p.m. Friday
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The fatal beating of a young woman with a flashlight Friday afternoon has police looking for more clues in the city's latest homicide investigation.

April Myers, 20, lived near the place where she was attacked in the 1400 block of 4th Avenue on Charleston’s west side. Neighbors are waiting for answers, wondering why a woman was killed in the middle of a busy street.
Myers was found lying in the middle of 4th Avenue around 1:00 p.m. When police arrived, the victim was still alive and the suspect was gone. Paramedics rushed her to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
"It is alarming to have a crime this violent happen in broad daylight," said Charleston Police Sgt. S.A. Cooper.
As the word spreads around the community, police search the scene for any clues that might lead them to the killer.
"Hopefully, within the next 24 hours we will know exactly what happened and exactly who we are looking for," Cooper said.
Police said one person could be involved in a crime they described as "very violent." They hope to release more information tonight about a car seen leaving the area just after the crime.
