UPDATE: Names Released
We now have the names of the women charged in connection with Friday's prostitution sting:

SUSPECT: Regina Marshall
CHARGE: Soliciting Prostitution

SUSPECT: Lisa Stone
CHARGES: Loitering, Contributing to a minor

SUSPECT: Hope Brown
CHARGE: 3rd Offense Soliciting Prostitution (felony)

SUSPECT: Megan Marshall
CHARGE: Soliciting Prostitution

SUSPECT: Edmona McLaughlin (home-owner)
CHARGES: Delivery of controlled substance (crack cocaine), Operating a House of Prostitution.

The name of the juvenile is not being released.


ORIGINAL STORY: Friday @ 11:23pm
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police arrested and charged six women with solicitation Friday night after they say they found them operating a brothel out of an apartment along 2nd Street.

The suspects were arraigned in Cabell County Magistrate Court. One of those arrested was a juvenile girl. Another woman was arrested and charged with operating the brothel and possession of a controlled substance after police found crack cocaine in the apartment.

Police say they are still looking for another suspect that may have helped run the operation. The women arrested will be transported to the Western Regional Jail.

These "ladies" demean decient women and provide a dangerous image for young females. Prostitutes are a major cause of the spreading of not only veneral diseases but other infectious diseases as well. Prostitution is a sex offense and should be prosecuted, their pictures published as a deterrent for wanna-bees, and registration for any sex offense mandatory.

thanks wsaz for not posting my comment and for posting marylin's comment, that is obviously not even about this story. her comment was about the dog being rescued.please post this one.this is to christian,and lost child aug 26 @6:25pm,i was abused and had a hard life as a child and have a few disorders myself. but, i am on medication and i have a job and i dont sell my body. abuse is no excuse having a mental problem isnt one either.you have a choice to do with your life what you want.no matter what your background is.sorry NO EXCUSES for doing any of the things these people are charged with. these people are too lazy to get a real job,or to even get help with mental illness. and if she is "crazy" then her family can petition the court for her to evaluated and then put in a mental facility.all i can say i WAH!!!!these people are trash!ugly trash. if you are a good caring friend that is a christian then maybe you should make it your mission to help her.you should have already helped her

From the video, those dogs looked well cared for.None of them showed fear in behing handled by a strange.Which shows me that kennle had hands on contact with their dogs.Also those dogs were not yapping and yipping like those i have seen seeking attetion.Their hair is not matted nor did the dogs seem to have dirty coats.Which shows their housing was kept very clean. I mean look at the dogs that are white..Their fur is not stained or yellow which proves those dogs were groomed.I doubt very highly if they were all given baths before the video.Also the coats looked healthy..which mean fleas and worms were under control.Also none of the puppies or dogs showed signs of discharge.Which again proves with that many dogs..They were still well cared for.Also i noticed no overly long toe nails on any dogs I showed dogs and horses for 30 years plus and did some judging.So those pics are worth a 1,000 words to me, and in my humbel opinion they were in a well manged kennle ment to make money

Trust me I know Lisa Stone. She has mental illness and should be confined to mildred bateman. I have known her since she was 12 years old. She had a very hard life. Her family used drugs and gave them to her as a minor. She started drugs at the ripe old age of 9. Her parents are scum bags for what they did to this child. Last time I saw her she could not even talk with her head not moving and shakeing voice. I have seen her going into fits before on the streets and I had talk to her to calm her down after rolling in the streets crying. So I am going to pray for this child, she never had a chance, and I ask all you Christians to do the same, before you have your mind made up your going to leave a negative comment, Christians do not do it, you are not above sin you are a sinner it is just your sin is not in the news.

To Annon Aug 23rd, why do you think these women do this, METH and other drugs. The are pimped out by the people who commit the murder and who sell the meth. These women contribute nothing to society, they don't pay taxes but get paid for a service. Why should HPD leave them alone, I don't want them hanging around my neighborhood so my children have to be subjected to their nasty,cracked out habits.

They should make them wear jump suits labeled "hooker", and do communtiy service for their crimes instead of sending them to jail for us to pay for. Also make the morons paying for them wear suits labeled "johns" right next to them doing the same work. Plaster their faces on the news so all their friends and relatives will know about it. Prostitution is wrong. Period. There is the option of self masturbation. Get real people. Allowing a vice will only encourage more criminal activity. Kathy, Country Boy and Rob, get a clue about the vicious cycle of this crime and those associated with it. Where are the arrested customers of these prostitutes? It's going to take arresting all involved to stop this from continuing.

I can't stand it when people say "legalize it"- as if that's a good solution to this problem. These women are drug-addicted and clearly need some help. The LAST thing on their mind is keeping themselves "clean" and going to a clinic to check for STD's, so they are only helping to spread disease. The problem with some of these girls Hep c and AIDS HIV Ect.and the spread of them I know of 4 of them with HIV and 2 with full blown Aids walking the streets and maybe spreading this stuff its bad folks drugs is a big problem when you can walk in the gas staton on 20th and 9th and buy drugs inside that store theres a problem close the store people.thats a hang out for em the store owners are just involved as the people are in that part of town...Ive lived in this part of town for over 20 years before it was bad and it is going to get worse.close the store thats all that needs to be said..............

The law can not call this prostitution because the way they look nobody would pay for that it had to be free. There is nothing that no one will not do to get drugs when they need or want drugs.

This problem is only going to get worse till something is done about the Drug problem in this area.Prostitution is a fast and quick way to buy drugs.It is getting tobe more common to see young women selling their self to get the drugs.We are seeing what big cities have seen for yrs. We all could do more to help fight the drug problem in our area.

I still say the law should leave them alone IF there wasn't a minor involved which there was in this bust Otherwise, leave them alone because it keeps them and their johns off the street. We'd much rather the police and mayor spent their time worrying about busting the REAL criminals like the druggies, rapists, theives, home invaders, and killers than hookers the only reason the mayor wants THEM arrested right now is it's almost election time & he's pandering to the church crowd they're not bothering me unlike the bums & rest of the human trash on the streets leave 'em alone AND put their johns names/pics on the news as well as the women! To cut down on STD's they need to do like the state of Nevada let them run brothel that way the women can be check for STD's that would cut down on the street walking crowd. Even 50 years ago before all this ridiculous crap started, cards said Happy Holidays, because it covered Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's, it is the Holiday Season! So Season's Greetings and Happy Holidays Y'all!

Jesus was Jewish, so don't tell me that being a Jew is a sin, & Christmas is THE ONLY HOLIDAY this time of year. Yes, I too love to hear MERRY CHRISTMAS, but I refuse to become upset when someone says happy holidays. How do you know if when you say MERRY CHRISTMAS to someone, your not saying it to a Jewish person? Do you ever hear them make a big fat stink about it? NO!!!, you don't. So I think you should just be happy that God has given you another day on this Earth. So that you have the time to celebrate, with your family, whatever holiday you choose. I've decided to say HAPPY MERRY KWANZ~MA~KA that way I've covered them all.

Thanksgiving was over. It offended me like many others. It is the Christmas season and I want to see the word Christmas used, not holiday or xmas.

I also am a christian and see something inherintly wrong with pigeon holing this time of year to simply "Merry Christmas." What I find really offensive is those of you who believe that it is ok to say "Christmas" but would be outraged if "Happy Kwanza" or "Happy Hanukah" appeared anywhere. So, that being said: HAPPY HOLIDAYS and a JOYOUS NEW YEAR to all!!

Christmas is not the only holiday this time of year. We did just celebrate Thanksgiving, remember. I am a Christian, that is not offended by the phrase HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
