CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- It's a day some children look forward to, others dread it.
Tuesday was the first day of school for students in West Virginia.
Kids of all ages were out early to catch the bus. Of course, many were showing off their new outfits and school supplies.
Parents of children living in the Knollwood Area of Charleston took a few minutes Tuesday morning to take a group picture of all the kids heading to school.
The group tells WSAZ.com this is a tradition for the neighborhood.
Some kids tell us they're a little nervous about starting a new year, but they say they're looking forward to meeting new friends.

well u guys make it sound all bad....its only for six hours a day......come on
well I don't worry much any longer my son is already done with school he grad. in 2006 so he's done unless he goes on to other schools?
Sounds like you either need to get out more or get at least a part-time job if you miss the that much. Sounds like you love them, but it also sounds like boredom when they aren't there.
