It all happened by the Sixth Street Bridge in Huntington around 11 o'clock. For the people who spend many hours fishing in this area, the news came as a shock.
But the peaceful scenery he's used to was replaced by crime tape, dive teams, and a body floating in the water.
Pratt's fellow fishermen made the disturbing discovery...
And dive teams quickly found the body and brought it ashore.
At this point: all police know is that it is a man...the body had been in the water for at least a few days...
As to foul play: it's simply too early to know.
Pratt says he's just relieved someone else made the discovery: and not him!
But Pratt says had he found the body: he would have immediately called 9-1-1...and that's exactly what the fishermen did this morning.
They didn't do anything to disturb what is --right now-- a crime scene.
