Ohio Men Sentenced in Truck Theft Ring
Two men from Lawrence County, Ohio who stole 58 tractor trailers and pawned nearly a million dollars worth of goods in three states are both now in prison.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Two Ohio men who stole 58 tractor trailers and pawned nearly a million dollars worth of goods in three states are both now in prison.
Frank Daniel Smith of Chesapeake, Ohio was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in Charleston to six years and eleven months. He also was ordered to pay nearly $439,500 in restitution.
Prosecutors say the 54-year-old Smith and Marvin Eugene Sexton, also of Chesapeake, targeted truck stops and restaurants between 2002 and 2005 searching for semis hauling lumber or heavy equipment. They sold the merchandise to fences and the rigs were taken to locations in Huntington, Chesapeake and Inez, Ky.
Sexton is serving four years and nine months in prison for his role in the crime.
