SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Nicholas County Commissioner says the county's 911 director resigned Wednesday after he was indicted on three counts of falsifying accounts.
The Grand Jury returned the indictment on Tuesday.
State Police say Alfonso "Joey" Derito, Jr. used county money for personal use.
According to court records, Derito allegedly spent the money on things like personal car repairs and a hotel room, and then falsified expense reports that were turned in to the county.
Commissioners tell WSAZ.com when Derito was charged the county placed him on paid administrative leave. Then, last week he was put on unpaid administrative leave.
Commissioners say Derito officially resigned from his post Wednesday afternoon.
Carla Hennessy has been serving as the Interim 911 Director since Derito was put on leave. She was the assistant 911 director under Derito.

If you think you have it bad in Nicholas Co. you should be thankful you don't have our Mason Co. 911 director and county commission. The 911 director two children are arsonist and are still employed by 911. W.S.A.Z. started to investigate this situation but someone must have pressured them to drop it.At least your county commission stopped the farse . The Mason Co. commission just lets the 911 director hire his children and keep them working when they had been involved in arson.
