CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Charleston firefighter who was found not guilty of malicious wounding is now in more trouble with the law.
Scott Allred is charged with aggravated DUI.
Police say Allred had a blood alcohol level of .201 when he was arrested early Sunday morning on Quarrier Street. That's more than twice the legal limit.
Back in January of 2007, Allred was found not guilty of attacking a Charleston police officer when both were off-duty.
Allred told a jury it was self-defense.

Probably the only reason he was arrested for DUI was because he had problems with the Police personally. Here in Fayette County WV I know of a volunteer fireman, which in my opinion, has a severe drinking problem. Time and again he gets pulled over driving drunk or causing problems and is released simply because he is a fireman and he is friends with several Fayette County Deputies. It is very troublesome to realize that he has a license to drive drunk, and I have children that travel on the same streets. Firemen and Policemen should have the same penalties as everyone else.

the bottom line is this was a first offense dui, why post it all over the media especially when the police leaked it and pushed for it, yea you might be getting back at scott but think about the way his daughter is catching slack at school because of this, and the fact you have just started another war with the fire department who has covered for you guys quite a few times if i remember correctly.

Give me a break! Is this not a FIRST TIME DUI offense? I personally know folks with 3 and 4 offenses and they're still out there driving! Are we talking about prison time for Allred or something?
