It's the first time TIME/CNN polled West Virginia. The cable channel lists the state as "Leaning McCain."

CNN's poll findings include a 2 to 1 lead among Independent voters for McCain in West Virginia. According to the poll, Obama leads among self-identified moderate voters. Obama also has a three point advantage among female voters in West Virginia, according to the results.

The survey of likely voters took place the past few days.

Well, well, well; what can I say. I am female. I was not for Hillary, I am not for Barack, never have been and never will be. I am of course a rare in Wayne county, I am a republican and I am for McCain and Palin all the way. I am also not for Byrd or Barth, I am for Shelly Capito. Republican all the way! It's time for change in WV...vote republican for a real change. O yeah, Manchin has been a very good governor in my opinion.

To Vicky: I agree with you about his father leaving his son, but I disagree with you in that he should have stayed in America to repay us for his education. I find his actions in line with my morals and probably yours as well because he came here to learn how to make his poor country a better place. Unfortunately for the people of Kenya, he was not as successful as he had wished.
