Anti-Smoking Grants Target Gay Community

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Bluefield State College and Covenant House have each received $50,000 state grants for programs aimed at reducing smoking in the gay community.
The grants from the state Division of Tobacco Prevention will fund yearlong anti-smoking programs in central and southern West Virginia.
Tobacco Prevention Director Bruce Adkins says tobacco use is significantly higher in the gay community than among non-gays.
Covenant House Development Director Jeff Crist says tobacco is a bigger health threat for the gay community that HIV.

Why does grant money have to go to a certain group of people? Why can't they just help people quit smoking? What about the white American minority?

Personally, I'm all for taking the cigarettes away from the gays and re-distributing them to the bigots of the area so maybe they (the bigots, I mean) will chill the heck out. Also, I give it t-minus 30 seconds before someone comes on here and lectures me about my "EVIL SINFUL WAYS" and "WICKED TOLERANCE". Don't bother.

someone should file a discrimination suit against these colleges. are gay poeple not allowed to attend stop smoking activities for straight people.
