CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Cross Lanes couple accused of causing their own baby's death will go on trial next year.
Elizabeth Thornton's son died in May and she was indicted last month for child neglect resulting in death.
An autopsy found Alexander Washburn suffered multiple blows to his head and was slammed against something before he died.
The child's father, Christoper Washburn was also indicted on the same charges.
Both Thornton and Washburn pleaded not guilty during their arraignment on Tuesday.
During the hearing, the judge set Washburn's bond at $100,000 and sent him to straight to jail. Thornton's bond will stay at $100,000.
Both suspects are expected to go on trial January 5.

I MET HER IN JAIL AND SHE IS NOTG CAPABLE OF THESE CHARGES. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY... AND WRONG SHE ONLY HAD 3 OTHER KIDS SO GET IT RIGHT... DONT JUDGE UNTIL YOUVE SEEN ALL THE STORY
Well you should ask the state of WV about that because she apparently has 4 more kids to spare. I'm sure they are in foster care and therefore not so wanted. Hope they can beat the genetic toxic waste they inherited.
People Like This need there HEAD CHOPPED OFF THERE IS PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WHO WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE THIS BABY!!!!!!!!
