CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Senator Hillary Clinton is praising congressional challenger Anne Barth as the candidate who will break with the policies of the Bush administration.
Speaking at a rally Friday at the University of Charleston, Clinton called Barth the candidate of change.
The rally also featured a surprise appearance by Sen. Robert C. Byrd. The West Virginia Democrat shouted his support for Barth from the audience.
Barth worked for Byrd for 21 years before challenging Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, the state's lone Republican in Congress.
Clinton is a popular politician in the state. She trounced Sen. Barack Obama in the May 13 Democratic presidential primary by a margin of more than 2-to-1.

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR A MAN WHO CLAIMS TO BE A CHRISTIAN BUT GOES TO A RACIST CHURCH, WHOS FATHER AND STEP FATHER ARE MUSLIMS, AND HAS TWO MUSLIM NAMES. WHO WOULD VOTE FOR A A DRAFT DODGING LIBERAL OVER A WAR HERO MODERATE VOICE OF AMERICA. STRAIT TICKET DEMOCRAT EXCEPT MCCAIN. NOBAMA IN THE HEARTLAND CLAY COUNTY . I HAVENT SEEN ONE OBAMSAMA SIGNS ANYWHERE NEAR CLAY COUNTY. OR CALHOUN OR ROANE COUNTY. I GUESS WE ARE STUPID HICKS AND THE CITY FOLKS ARE SMARTER EDUCATED HOLLWOOD LOVING LIBERALS WHO ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN US POOR FOLK. ITS A SAD DAY FOR MY GRANDADS GENERATION WHEN ITS OK TO BE A DRAFT DODGER AND MAKE FUN OF A MANS ARM WHOS INJURY CAME AT THE EXPENCE OF THIS COUNTRY. WAKE UP AMERICA BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.
Now that West Virginia has become a toss-up state you can really see the negativeness of republicians. They know they are the reason we are in the shape we are in. Senator Byrd is the best senator in U.S history. If Senator Chilton makes a couple more trips to WV Mr. Obama will win West Virginia. I am seeing twice as many sighns for him since the debates. I am sick of George Bush and his policies of entitlement for the wealthy. Obama for coal to liquids. McCain one hundred new nuclear plants. Sounds like the makings for a lot of dirty blombs. We need Anne Barth and Senator Obama.
i voted for hillary who i thought was about the people, and now i see she is only about the democrat party. i am so disappointed. McCain/Palin 2008!!!!!!!
