ELKVIEW, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- No pain at the pump at one station in Kanawha County, at least for a little while.

A gallon of gas was selling for $2.25 at the Go-Mart along Frame Road in Elkview. Workers tell WSAZ.com it was a glitch that was fixed after about an hour and a half. Gas is now back up to $3.25 for a gallon of unleaded.

The average around Charleston is $3.19.

oil was 70 dollars a barrel gasoline was 2.19 so yes they are still gouging

C-Dog gas prices have dropped so dramatically because we are in the middle of a worldwide recession. The election could be tomorrow or 4 years from now and prices would still be going down when you are in a recession.

Agreed.... What I don't understand is that when you see a breakdown of the price of gas it is most affected by the price of oil. When oil was at its peak around $150 a barrell we were paying around 4.09 a gallon. Now that oil is trading around $78 a barrell why has the price of gas not come down in line with the oil. The was I see it that is roughly a 25% drop in gas prices versus a 50% drop in oil prices, which if the price is most directly related to oil means gas should be back in the $2.00-$2.20 range.

As a former resident of Huntington I can't understand why gas in Huntington and Charleston is still so high, I recently moved to the North Eastern Panhandle \of WV and gas here is $2.99. Can we say Gas Gouging?

I find it incredibly interesting that gas prices have dropped so dramatically right before the election....hhhmmmm. We are being used as pawns in the game and totally taken advantage of. And for those people who wonder why WV has higher gas prices....every hear of gas tax?

Haven't you got anything better to do than sit at the computer and complain about what other people are doing? And I got news for you if gas was 10.00 a gallon I would be sitting at home or walking. I've cut my driving down to bare minimum, get groceries and go to the doctor and church. No more drives or visiting just for the fun of it.

Interesting, I was in Spencer saturday and it was still 3.89 a gallon, I brought it in Ky Friday for 2.99

i always miss the good breaks like that where gas is accidentally sold for dirt-cheap. oh well, it's still nice to see it down as low as it is.

I went friday to clarksburg and the kroger gas station had the cheap gas for $3.09 at around 1pm and at 3PM it went up to $3.28. I was just watching news for NJ and its only 2.69 a gallon there. why is it that WV(which is suppose to be one of the poorer states)has one of the highest gas prices? I think its all BS

Go-Mart is one of the company's that raise and lower the price of the gas by just a phone call, I think that it should be raised and lowered when the gas actually comes in and put in the tanks.... Gas needs to drop down really fast seeing as it under $80.00 a barrel now!!!

Gas has been under $3.00 for the last few days in Lexington. Today it is $2.88/gallon. At $3.25, you all are still getting ripped off!

WV Gas Prices This past weekend, travel to Rising Sun, IN and we paid $2.61 for gas. Then coming home crossing the KY/WV bridge it was over $3.29. The difference is amazing! This state is SO MUCH HIGHER than any surrounding states!

Im glad it happened.It is a shame that they caught it that fast.These people have been ripping us off way too long.Gas should be around 2.49 a gallon with the price of oil.These people will pay for what they have done to others.Let them enjoy the cash while they can.Life on earth is but a blink of an eye.

Why is gas prices around here are more than 30-70 cents higher than any hwere else in the are. I have friends in Cincinnati oh getting gas for 2.39-2.59, Toledo, Oh for 2.49 western Ky for 2.60-273...but we here are paying 3.15 - 3.39 ? Why is not reported on ???? Should be the leading story...WE ARE BEING GOUGED !!

The sad truth is that with the price of oil being $84 that the price at the pump should be around $2.40. It won't stop until the CEO's from Exxon, BP, etc are put in jail. Good ole homegrown American terrorists.

Most teachers deal with students who are exposed to/use more drugs and alcohol than any of the teachers. If these students or parents who are using drugs (and are not drug tested) enter our schools, the safety of the teachers and students are at risk. Since children spend more time with them, let's randomly drug test PARENTS, too!!!

I recently had a relative in the cardiac unit at Kings Daughters, in Ashland, and I was told that the nursing staff had been cut back and that no overtime was being given. This seems to be a drastic cut in patient care for a facility that spends thousands advertising that they are in the top 5% of cardiac hospitals in the country. I would be willing to wager that the Cleveland Clinic has not cut hours of those giving patient care.

I am probably one of their biggest critics due to having watch some of the bad side of the department for a long time. I wish that I could tell everything that I have seen officers do,which would put most of them behind bars or they'll lose their sheild, But retalliation is bad in our area. For example, I'm sure any parent would sacrifice their live for thier children. And several may give thier live to save their spouse. A few individuals may even do it for a close friend. But, I only know of 3 types of beings who will sacrifice thier lives for complete strangers; indeed even for people who hate them. The first would be our men and women in our armed forces. The second would be our law enforcement officers. And of course, third would be our Savior, Jesus Christ. Others are killed in the line of their employment, but not in order to save a complete stranger. Everytime a cop puts on his/her uniform, they can be a target for anyone upset about something. Even though it doesn't involve the cop personally, that very cop will give his life to save yours when a problem arises. We need to give our cops not only a wage, but a living wage and a great big THANKS.

  • Posted By: Ex-Officer: I agree with Robert 100% I worked in law enforcement and loved the job but try to rise a family on less than 10.00 an hour (out of that pay for your own duty gear and gun). I believe that all public safety workers should be drug tested but i also believe that they should be paid for the job that they do. Not many people understand what a public safty worker goes through. Would you put your life on the line for this kind of pay? Remember the saying that you get what you pay for. I see this in several new officers in my area. Don't get me wrong there are still very good officers in law enforcement. Something really needs to be done about the low pay for these jobs.

We are trusting our childrens education and our public safety to the very people that are some of the most underpaid profesions in the U.S.. If I could change this, I would. However, I do believe that these people should be randomly drug tested. I work in the construction industry and I have no problem being drug tested. I have nothing to hide. I also believe that any person who is intrusted with the safety of others should have nothing to hide. This includes plitical officials up to and including the president.
