UPDATE @ 4:48pm
West Virginia Secretary of State Betty Ireland says reported problems with touch screen electronic voting machines in Putnam and Jackson Counties have been fixed.

A few people reported that their votes were switched, but Ireland tells WSAZ.com those voters were eventually able to correct their ballots.

She says sensitive touch screens and a calibration issue are likely to blame for the problems. Now, the electronic machines in every county are being re-calibrated each morning.

On election day, Ireland says there will be 350 people throughout the state helping with any problems.

So far about 35,000 people have voted early in West Virginia.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Secretary of State Betty Ireland will have a news conference Wednesday to discuss recent reports of problems regarding touch screen electronic voting machines.

The press conference is set for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Some voters in Putnam County claim their votes for democrats are going to the other party, but the Putnam County Clerk says he tested the machines and they're working properly.

However, voters in Jackson County have also made similar complaints about their votes for democrats switching to the republicans in several races.

Earlier this week, poll officials told WSAZ.com that the problems could be user error.

We will have a crew at the press conference.
