They traveled halfway across the country to Iowa, and now, they are home celebrating with their families. They are the Special Olympians from West Virginia.

They arrived home on Saturday afternoon with lots of medals around their necks, and while the Olympic spirit might have been left in Iowa, one Olympian’s family has team spirit even if it’s not time to compete.

Samantha Jarrell is 32-years-old. She's been a Special Olympian since she was just four years old. It has been an experience the entire family is proud of. It was a great honor, but the real honor is now in West Virginia with a smile that’s worth its weight in gold.
