HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The captain of the Hurricane Police Department tells WSAZ.com that a former Putnam County Sheriff has been arrested on DUI charges.
Captain Joe Sisk says Stan Farley was involved in an accident around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning in front of the Hurricane Tire on Route 60.
Sisk tells WSAZ.com it appears Farley struck the back of a woman's car, but the accident is still under investigation.
The captain would not go into details about the investigation or say if Farley failed a field sobriety test. However, Sisk tells WSAZ.com Farley will be charged with driving under the influence. He's expected to be arraigned on the charges within the hour.
Farley served as Putnam County Sheriff from 1997 to 2004.
In fact, he was hoping to oust current Sheriff Mark Smith during Tuesday's general election, but lost.

Wow...there's a lot of information on here...James if you have this information, it sounds like the FBI or US Attorney is the place to go & not a message board. And to Anonymous, you should be glad there is a "rat" as you say...if those allegations are true, then they need to be punished too. Many problems in history have come to life due to the actions of a "rat". The media calls them "whistle blowers". But, you are right about one thing...when the light is shined on a problem, a lot of skeletons tend to come tumbling out of many closets...MANY skeletons. Regarding Mr. Farley, it's a sad case. He will have to pay for his wrong doing & I'm sure with the media watching, things will be done properly. But he's got insurance and since he lost the election, he's got time to devote to his case.
Hey I thought this article was about the ex-sheriff getting arrested for DUI. so lets get back to the article and those facts. For the other thing james that you talked about I guess the real facts are only know by that deputy.
The Sheriff does know about it but chooses to do nothing because the deputy is one of his sucks. If it was your parents that had money stolen from their body,or your daughter who had pictures of her breast taken, what would you do?
