CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The election has armed Gov. Joe Manchin
with the largest victory margin ever won by someone seeking his
office. Now he is vowing to extend health coverage to every
uninsured working West Virginian.
Manchin says he could propose expanding the state's Public
Employees Insurance Agency to cover small businesses.
He's also weighing a plan to allow the working poor keep their
Medicaid benefits for another 10 years once their rising incomes
leaves them ineligible. The grace period is now five years.
The governor also pledged to continue the gradual tax cuts that
helped define his first term. But he says a national recession
could at least hamper that.
Manchin won re-election Tuesday with nearly 70 percent of the
vote, and carried all 55 counties.

I work two jobs I have no health insurance! Anything beats what I have now......
Why is it that I see people with a bipolar 'diagnosis' draw a check and receive a medical card yet are not in therapy and not on any medication but simply can't work because of this 'diagnosis'. I know a number of people with true bipolar who seem to be able to work. I'm tired of giving them a free ride while I, who work struggle to cover my medical expenses.
Wow yeah I know where he is going to get all this money for all this, read the Charleston paper today wow hes going to raise state employyes health premiums 9% and make benefit cuts. Wow sounds to me the state workers lose again and how are we a state that is doing so good when you have to keep raising the insurance, they dont hardly pay anything now. Plus, if you use an out of state doctor, wow you will be paying 10% more going for 20 to 30 just to use the doctor that you have been using forever, well give them time and they will be choosing the doctor you go to and the bad thing is most of the docotrs in West Virginia are worthless anyway and thats why they have to go elsewhere. So way to go Joe you sure fooled alot of people wow I bet if you would have come out with this before election you would have been closer or we just might have a new governer. Its not like its hard enough to find teachers in this state for the peanuts you pay them and then raise the premiums again. Thanks Joe.
