KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One pool hall in Kanawha County is still riding the wave of President-elect Barack Obama's victory.
That's because Obama shot pool last spring at Schultzie's Billiards during the primary. Now the owner plans to auction off the pool table.
"The fact he played here -- for us, it gives us a lot of pride," said John Mawyer, owner of Schultzie's Billiards. "I am proud of the fact that he came here and chose our location to share his visit in West Virginia."
Mawyer wants to share a piece of Obama's visit with the world; he plans to auction off the pool table Obama used to show off his skills.
"I can see someone walking around this table, saying this is the pool table that President Barack Obama played on in 2008 before he came president of the United States," Mawyer said.
This will not be the first Obama memorabilia that has hit the auction block. You can find autographed books, T-shirts, footballs for sale on the Web -- even food. Someone put a sweet potato on eBay, claiming it looked like Obama. Only a few people took a bite at it; it sold for nine bucks.
Mawyer believes the pool table will go for much more than that.
"This is a valuable piece of furniture, in my opinion, not just here but people around the world," he said.
The details of how Mawyer will auction off the pool table have not been finalized. When he does decide, we'll let you know.
Maywer said he plans to donate some of the money to charity.

To "JH": Actually, the media, both nationally and locally, has fed into this "scare tactic". If all people see is gloom and doom, then it freaks them out, it "wasn't" as bad as it had seemed, but thanks to the media, they have sent people into a frantic state, which has made it completely worse.
Bob, the stock market crashed when the entire world realized we were in a global recession. The election has had little effect on the economy. The stock market crashing is based on the credit crunch, lack in consumer confidence, housing market, banks going belly up, credit default swaps, and a long list of other things already snowballing long before Hillary lost the primary.
