UPDATE 1/17/07: The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department reports that Kenneth Ward Gaines turned himself in back in November.
He's a convicted drug dealer who was given two chances to straighten up his act. Deputies say he's in trouble again and they need your help to find him.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department has named Kenneth Ward Gaines one of Charleston's Most Wanted. He's accused of skipping out on his probation for the second time. Gaines was convicted of having a large amount of marijuana and cocaine.
Police say they found it when they pulled him over for a traffic violation on the west side in 2003. During that traffic stop, police say Gaines ran from them--and had to be tackled by officers.
"Probation and some of the lenient sentences are meant to give that person a break, and give that person a second chance to get back on the right track," said Lt. Sean Crosier with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department. "But when they cannot adhere to the probation requirements, it's almost like they're begging to get back into jail."
Kenneth Ward Gaines is 39 years old. His last known address is on North Fayette Street in Beckley, but he has ties to the Charleston area.
