JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Deputies say one of the drivers involved in an accident on I-77 near Ripley last Wednesday night has died.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department tells WSAZ.com that Blythe Horton of South Carolina died Sunday night at about 7:45 p.m.
Investigators say Horton lost control of her car, crossed the median, and then hit a tractor trailer head-on.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.
Deputies say they're still not sure what caused Horton to lose control.

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police have released the names of the drivers involved in an accident on I-77 near Ripley Wednesday night.
Blythe Horton of South Carolina is in critical condition at CAMC General. Deputies tell us Horton was driving north when she lost control of her car, crossed the median and went into the southbound lanes.
That's where Horton's car hit a tractor trailer, which ended up in the northbound lanes of I-77.
Deputies say the driver of the tractor trailer, Eric Peoples of Pennsylvania, was not injured in the accident.
The accident brought traffic to a standstill for several hours.
UPDATE @ 12 a.m.
911 dispatchers say all lanes of I-77 are now back open.
UPDATE @ 10 p.m.
If you're planning on heading north Wednesday night on I-77 in Jackson County, you may have to take a detour. Both northbound lanes remain closed because of an accident involving a car and a tractor-trailer that happened between the Fairplain and Ripley exits.
Police said a woman was driving north when she lost control of her car, crossed the median and went into the southbound lanes. Her car was hit by the tractor-trailer, which ended up in the northbound lanes.
The woman was flown to a Charleston hospital. Her name and condition are unavailable. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
Emergency crews hope to have one northbound lane open by midnight.
UPDATE @ 8:16pm
A WSAZ.com reader reports that one of the southbound lanes has reopened, but the northbound lanes are still shut down. Authorities said the northbound lanes should reopen around midnight.

RIPLEY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An accident involving a tractor-trailer and a car has shut down Interstate 77 north and south in Jackson County, West Virginia.
It happened in the northbound lanes at the 136 mile marker.
911 dispatchers tell WSAZ.com a tractor trailer and a car hit head-on and at least one person is trapped in the car.
A helicopter has been called to the scene.
Dispatchers are urging drivers to avoid this area of I-77 while crews work to get the wreck cleaned up.
No word yet how seriously anyone was hurt.
