LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Veterans Administration employee and 13 others have been charged with conspiring to steal nearly $2 million in disability claims.

U.S. Attorney David Huber said in a statement Thursday that Veterans Affairs service representative Jeffrey Allan McGill, 12 veterans, and one civilian have been indicted.

A federal grand jury on Wednesday filed charges of conspiring to defraud the United States of nearly $2 million through the submission of false disability claims to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

According to a Louisville newspaper, 5 of the people indicted are from West Virginia. They are 61-year-old Randell Lee Adkins of Logan, 42-year-old James Edward Bryant of LeRo, 38-year-old Tomas Darrell Bryant of Leroy, 62-year-old Susan Diane Smith of Hurricane and 37-year old Nicolette Marie Wages of Parkersburg.

Smith is the only person who is not a veteran, according to the paper.

I know one of these guys and he's bought alot of stuff with our vets money. HOPE HE GETS A GO TO JAIL CARD FOR A LONG TIME. Hats off to all the Vets that are waiting for support from the D.A.V

Just remember, while all of you are wishing these guys go to jail, they have little children who are praying every night that their daddys are given a second chance. And yes innocent until proven guilty. They should have to pay back but I pray their children to not have to pay.

Sounds like Jackson County WV Schools with the taxpayers money. They buy millions of dollars of land after the taypayers told them not to and then post it 3 days before deer season. They are a bunch of low down dirty crooks. Hey WSAZ this would be a good story for you to report on. Ask School officials why they did this when the taxpayer clearly said no when we voted no on the "special levy."

How do we know they don't have legit claims for benefits? Innocent until proven guilty people. I bet they drop the charges.

I am just wondering how does Veterans stealing money by making false disability claims have to do with the President Elect?!? Get over it... if anything blame these selfish greedy people submitting bogus claims while injured soliders can't even get the care they need paid for or being denied proper care due to lack of funds!!!!

It is bad enough for one vet. to do this, but over a dozen fellow vets.come on now.

There will be a stiff penalty for these jerks. Unfortunately, it will be the thousands of men and women who serve our veterans who will get a bad rap from now on. I proudly serve our veterans and not once never have I ever thought of doing anything against our finest soldiers in the world. Vets, I proudly serve you.
