Oh yeah, Hey Nancy -- ever heard of Hepatitis C?

Posted by: Ashley on Nov 25, 2008 at 02:58 PM
Hey there Nancy on Nov. 24 @ 4:58pm. Are you serious?? Do you really think they are doing this to "better support" their children? I assure you that either they've lost complete custody of their children, their elderly mother is raising them, or they don't even know where or what is happening to them. And this will affect their children for the REST OF THEIR LIVES!! WAKE UP!!!!!!!

Posted by: Ashley on Nov 25, 2008 at 02:54 PM
If this isn't rock bottom, what is? And yes, their children ARE directly affected by this and what they are doing every second of every day! And yes, they DO know better. They have no conscience. They have CHOSEN this life! This life did NOT choose them! To all of their family members --- STOP ENABLING THEIR ADDICTION & LIFE STYLE!!!

Niki, your sister is a sick individual. Yes she my be driven by an addiction to drugs, but that is no excuse for her to trash up our city. And you are correct: I am not perfect. The difference however between myself and your sister is that I have never sold my body for drugs or money. The things I have done don't even come close to how horrific the acts your sister is committing are.

Posted by: EEEEEK on Nov 25, 2008 at 11:46 AM
Yikes. These girls are so cracked out it's scary. In each of their mugshots it looks like they have all just recently taken drugs. I am so glad they arrested that trash and got them off the streets.

Posted by: jayna on Nov 25, 2008 at 11:21 AM
they are endangering their children in many ways, such as leaving them alone (may be better off) and putting lives in danger of psychos (or are the moms the psychos)

Posted by: anonymous on Nov 25, 2008 at 10:26 AM
Niki-we did not put your personal family business out in the open. Your sister did that for you. People are going to respond, it's human nature. Your sister is sick, it's not just a way of life. It is a disease. I will pray for her to have the strength to heal, and I will pray that you have the strength to give her the tough love that she needs. I truly feel for your family. God bless you all.

Posted by: Niki on Nov 25, 2008 at 07:38 AM
well you know all the people that is running them down i have noticed your not leaving your name so you don't have the gut's to what face her or her family? you all need to grow up it is a addiction they do what they have to do in order to support there habit yea it might b sick to you but them it is just another way to get fast money! so don't judge people you don't know personally! and the GOOD LORD WILL BE DOING THE JUDGING! im sure all of you are not perfect now are you?! yea Paula is my sister so if you got something say say it to her or to me!!

its another way that the states waste money picking these women up and wasteing the money man power doing it and now its our money that pays for them being in jail so we loose all the way around were the taxpayers.

Posted by: Nancy on Nov 24, 2008 at 04:58 PM
robin, if you want to bring up a parade of horribles argument that is your right. It is unlikely that what their mother does well away from the home has any affect on their child whatsoever. They are most likely doing this for their children in order to make money to better support them.

Posted by: linda on Nov 24, 2008 at 04:42 PM
you know these girls were all good girls like us until drugs took over were all mothers and have daughters so dont judge to quick you never know when it may be your daughter pray for the girls drugs are bad that what it all about drugsit taking our kids any way it can

Posted by: To Nancy on Nov 24, 2008 at 04:18 PM
Are you serious? That is not the only way they could infect their kids. Give me a break. They come in contact with bodily fluids of all kinds in the same household. Also things are passed when they are pregnant with them. How about some common sense.

NANCY-there are many ways that these womens choices affect their children. They definately dont have to sleep with them to have a negative affect. What about the effect that seeing their mother behind bars will have on them. Or if they drink after mommy not realizing the big herpes sore on mommies lip, disease now spread to the child. Or if a John decides to beat or kill the mother, I dont suppose that would affect the child at all. In my opinion, to say that prostitution does not affect the child is very ignorant.

Women in prostitution industries have been blamed for this epidemic of STDs ... The sex of prostitution is physically harmful to women in prostitution. STDs (including HIV/AIDS, chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, human papilloma virus, and syphilis) are all alarmingly high among women in prostitution.

Posted by: Deb on Nov 24, 2008 at 09:02 AM
Shawn was a very nice and innocent girl at one time in high school she had a lot of things happen to her during that time which turned her to the wrong crowd You wouldn't believe by looking at her then what drugs have done to her. I wish putting her in jail would rehabilitate her but they don't have anything like that in jail. Prayer is all we can do for her. She was a very nice person who definately lost her way.

Posted by: Resident on Nov 24, 2008 at 09:01 AM
Yeah, check out the WVRJA website...these "girls" are already back out on the street. Connie Hemmingway, now there's a familiar name. She has been picked up numerous times for prostitution. When is she either gonna learn or, be put away so that she isn't right back out there 1-2 days later?! It is joke HPD!! Why bother picking these girls up if there isn't going to be any REAL consequence? It is a waste of my tax dollars the way I see it.

Posted by: na on Nov 24, 2008 at 04:55 AM
my comment didnt get posted either. all I ask was how much did the women pay for the brown bag over thier heads LOL

Posted by: Nancy on Nov 24, 2008 at 02:41 AM
Beth, I don't think the women will be having unprotected sex with their kids. That would be the only way a disease could infect their kids. What other risk were you speaking of?

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 24, 2008 at 02:37 AM
I honestly believe if a woman chooses to have sex for money thats her choice. Strip clubs are about the same, men and women pay for girls to dance, and what do you think goes on in VIP rooms? you don't see the police busting them..actually I am sure plenty of our cops have been to strip clubs. And, to be tecnical about it, all men pay for sex somehow, most men give women money to shop, and etc..I say let them make there own choices, why pass judgement..some women just love sex and money! and its the men who keep them out there doing this job! But lets judge until we walk in their shoes...

Funny how most posters to this are females, as I am. However, dont judge too fast, it may be your man who is paying them. I learned that the hard way, so, dont think you are safe from it. I see it on the streets from my office everyday. I think the streets should be cleanedup. I have taken pics of license plates of the johns. and called HPD about them being picked up and dropped off in front. Did HPD show. NO. Just be fair, it isnt only the "LADIES" its the men paying for it that keeps them out there.

Most of these girls have been busted more than 3 times. I know of 3 that have been busted at least 5 times right now! I thought the law was after 3 times it becomes a felony! Guess they only prosecute what they want!

i was at the 7-11 in b-ville this evening getting gas and a lady came in and asked how to get to huntington...i instantly thought to myself [whoe]. said she had came to WV from KY and was stranded, but pulled out TTA bus passes? really now come on! when i got on the web site here i saw this about the arrests. i do beleive that this lady was the one arrested. i went to look at wv regional jail site and ms. bowling i guess had been released. she then returned to the store and asked a man to give her a ride... she was not appealing at all! has anyone gone to the site and looked at some of the "woman"...oh my??? really guys what would anyone be thinking?

Posted by: Sue on Nov 22, 2008 at 09:28 PM
This is just another chapter in the story of Huntington. Maybe if the word gets out, this could be a part of the plan (WV is open for business). What could they put in their adds, fat with no teeth?

Posted by: edward on Nov 22, 2008 at 08:51 PM
are you sure about the location of the arrest.i live in this area, and have not whitness activity of this magnitude on this street.

If they want to subject themselves to disrepecting their bodies and possibly catching deadly disease to earn money, let 'em. Just tax it; the work everyone does is with their bodies (brains, hands, etc.) somehow and it's taxed, so tax this!

Hey K, these "girls" are committing crimes. They spread disease and are embroiled in drugs. Those crimes lend themselves to larger ones. Get a grip when you act like this isn't a crime. ALL CRIME is not to be tolerated. Please arrest the "johns" as well.

Many of you are so freakin nosey that if your neighbor stopped too fast, you'd have to get a crane to remove your head from their rear. I am so tired of this drug test line. Teachers deserve to pee in peace and so do you. Why should teachers be forced to have their personal lives paraded all over the news? That is exactly what would happen. If a typical joe blow got fired from the coal mines for drugs, it wouldn't make front page news. A teacher being fired for drugs would. You people expect teachers to be the mother, father, grandparent, clergyman, counselor, as well as the teacher. You don't do anything with your kids but expect the teacher to fix all the problem you create. Some of them probably need drugs by the time they are done raising your spoiled kids who think the world owes them something on a silver platter. Take your own drug test before you get pregnant.
  • Posted By: SophieRe: The student (Hinzman?) being expelled for using foul language after being bullied & beaten on school grounds; you should not have been expelled for expressing your hurt, anger & disgust. You were a victim and did nothing. It is unreasonable to punish the victim - so what if he cussed - I'd cuss too if someone beat the beegeebers out of me. The kid who beat you should receive jail time & counciling; the kid who filmed you & released it on U-Tube should too. It has often been said that television is desensitizing our children so badly they have no empathy for others. This is a prime example. I hope the school board will have enough common sense to clear this victims school record of the incident as he should not have been expelled, and get him counciling also as such a trauma will surly have an effect on a young life.

  • Posted By: TeaI can't even imagine that our teachers have not been drug tested up until this time. Anyone who refuses should be fired. These are our children!!! People take drug test when they don't even work with people, let alone children. These are government jobs and we should have a say in what they have to do.
  • Posted By: AriCheers to Rob-I feel ya!
  • Posted By: joeI have worked for companies all over this nation and have had to take drug tests. Why should teachers be exempt from this practice? It is now common to be randomly tested(and I have been) so what makes a teacher any different than a steel worker. I can say proudly that I passed but I have seen those who didn't. They chose to use drugs and lost their jobs I didn't.
  • Posted By: KatyAs a teacher, I have no problem being randomly drug tested...as long as you agree to drug test the parents who enter the doors of my school as well. Most teachers deal with students who are exposed to/use more drugs and alcohol than any of the teachers. If these students or parents who are using drugs (and are not drug tested) enter our schools, the safety of the teachers and students are at risk. Since children spend more time with them, let's randomly drug test PARENTS, too!!!

I recently had a relative in the cardiac unit at Kings Daughters, in Ashland, and I was told that the nursing staff had been cut back and that no overtime was being given. This seems to be a drastic cut in patient care for a facility that spends thousands advertising that they are in the top 5% of cardiac hospitals in the country. I would be willing to wager that the Cleveland Clinic has not cut hours of those giving patient care.

  • Posted By: ChrisTo Ex-Officer: I agree with you 100% about the pay of police dept and the drug testing. I was formerly involved with the BCPD and had multiple ride alongs with the BCSO. I am probably one of their biggest critics due to having watch some of the bad side of the department for a long time. I wish that I could tell everything that I have seen officers do,which would put most of them behind bars or they'll lose their sheild, But retalliation is bad in our area. To the cops that do their job and do it with the best intentions, I proud of you and don't mean any disrespect. To the ones who I personally watch being more currupt then the "badguys" here, your day will be coming.
  • Posted By: PabloTeachers aren't the only ones underpaid. Law enforcement officers are underpaid also. And I'd like to speak about them. For example, I'm sure any parent would sacrifice their live for thier children. And several may give thier live to save their spouse. A few individuals may even do it for a close friend. But, I only know of 3 types of beings who will sacrifice thier lives for complete strangers; indeed even for people who hate them. The first would be our men and women in our armed forces. The second would be our law enforcement officers. And of course, third would be our Savior, Jesus Christ. Others are killed in the line of their employment, but not in order to save a complete stranger. Everytime a cop puts on his/her uniform, they can be a target for anyone upset about something. Even though it doesn't involve the cop personally, that very cop will give his life to save yours when a problem arises. We need to give our cops not only a wage, but a living wage and a great big THANKS.
  • Posted By: CraigIf what I am hearing is correct that Kanawha County teachers accepted a pay raise in return for submitting to drug testing, and then sued successfully so they do not have to be subject to testing, then why shouldn't we the taxpayers demand they return the raise?

  • Posted By: Ex-OfficerI agree with Robert 100% I worked in law enforcement and loved the job but try to rise a family on less than 10.00 an hour (out of that pay for your own duty gear and gun). I believe that all public safety workers should be drug tested but i also believe that they should be paid for the job that they do. Not many people understand what a public safty worker goes through. Would you put your life on the line for this kind of pay? Remember the saying that you get what you pay for. I see this in several new officers in my area. Don't get me wrong there are still very good officers in law enforcement. Something really needs to be done about the low pay for these jobs.
  • Posted By: GarlandWhat's the difference between teachers and other workers(coal mineers, bus drivers, state employees, etc.)? Teachers aren't any better are they?
  • Posted By: This is not a comment, but I would like comments on it please. What do you think of Poca High School? Racist or not?
  • Posted By: RobertWe the people, through our own self centeredness and apathy, have allowed our teachers and police officials to be some of the most underpaid people in the United States. We are trusting our childrens education and our public safety to the very people that are some of the most underpaid profesions in the U.S.. If I could change this, I would. However, I do believe that these people should be randomly drug tested. I work in the construction industry and I have no problem being drug tested. I have nothing to hide. I also believe that any person who is intrusted with the safety of others should have nothing to hide. This includes plitical officials up to and including the president.
