Maytown, KY (WSAZ) -- A man is accused of fatally shooting his wife of less than a week early Thursday morning in Floyd County, Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police say Joshua A. Mock, 26, called dispatchers at 2:47AM Thursday morning and told them he'd shot his wife Linda in the neck. Investigators say the couple had been fighting and the situation had escalated. Troopers arrived at the home on 38 Dogwood Heights in Maytown and took Joshua Mock into custody.
Linda Mock was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Martin, Kentucky where she died a short time later. She was 28. Her body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner in Frankfort for an autopsy.
Joshua Mock claims he shot his wife in self-defense but investigators believe he intentionally killed her. He is charged with murder and is currently lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
Neighbors say the couple got married last weekend and say they never noticed any trouble between the two.
Police say they don't know what led to the couple's argument.

this is sad. i bet he did it just because he was tired of his wife.
Why is everyone fighting over stupid stuff on here? This is for Josh & Linda & their baby Brooklyn. I've known Josh for a long time & most of these comments everyone is making is irrelevant to this situation.
pablo, sounding as stupit as you are its a wonder he hasnt killed you yet, you sound like a complete mental person,i hope before your time comes that you wake up and see the light!!
