Ousted Dunbar Mayor Appeals Removal Decision
The appeal filed Monday in Kanawha Circuit Court argues the charges didn't justify former Dunbar Mayor Roger Wolfe's removal from office. Posted: 8:50 AM Dec 2, 2008Reporter: The Associated Press Email Address: news@wsaz.com |

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Former Dunbar Mayor Roger Wolfe is
appealing his ouster to the state Supreme Court.
A three-judge panel removed Wolfe from office in October after
finding he repeatedly conducted city business, including spending
thousands of dollars, without the Dunbar council's approval.
The appeal filed Monday in Kanawha Circuit Court argues the
charges didn't justify Wolfe's removal from office. It also argues
that the panel lacked the jurisdiction to remove him and his due
process rights were violated.
The appeal asks the Supreme Court to overturn the decision and
reinstate Wolfe.
Wolfe was replaced by retired Marshall University professor and
former Army National Guard commander Jack Yeager. Yeager will serve through June, when Dunbar has another election.

The "THEY" you are referring to are the 6 council people that wanted Mayor Wolfe out of office NOT the citizens. So when you refer the "THEY" make sure you know who "THEY" are. "THEY" are the ones that said they were paying $32,000 out of their own pockets for lawyer fees! GUESS WHAT? "THEY" LIED! It's us the citizen that got stuck with the bill for something that only 6 people of the city wanted. Mayor Wolfe will win re-election and "THEY" will be voted out! Besides it's Mayor Wolfes own money that he is using not the residents of the city.

Can we not just give this up... Volunter at the hospital or animal shelter to take up your spare time. Take the hint, they don't want you, and move on. Run for re-election next time and see if it happens...then you can say I told you so...till then don't tie up the courts and waste the money. Being mayor of Dunbar ranks with being mayor of Nitro.....wooo hooo
