CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - State officials are looking for someone
to promote West Virginia by encouraging former residents to come
home.
And they've decided that no one is better for that role than a
real West Virginian.
The Department of Commerce is holding an essay contest to find
such a person. The winner will be featured in print and online ads
for the Come Home to West Virginia campaign.
Rules and entry forms are available on the Web site
www.hometowv.com.
Contestants must be West Virginia residents but family or
friends who live out of state can submit nominations. A panel of
judges comprised of Commerce staff will choose the winner, who will
be notified by Feb. 15.
There's no entry fee.

Well Suckered - the road runs both ways. You can always to back to the life you had in "ANOTHER STATE"!! That is if the grass is truly greener there!
Actually this is a desparate attempt to reverse the large exodus of citizens that this state has experienced over the years.....It will probably amount to nothing but some wasted advertising money as more citizens continue to leave.
We could have a picture of Joe Mansion and Robert Byrd sitting on bales of hay. They could both have bib overalls on and straw hats with them chewing on a straw of hay. A little bit of picking and grinnin, maybe Bob Wise standing and clogging in place. Welcome Home Mountian Mama.
